"You can do this, Kagami. Just walk over there and tell him it's over."
The plan sounded simple enough to anyone that wasn't Namika Kagami; but she knew deep down that her friend, Ai Sato, was right. Suguru Niragi was no good for her. He was jealous, controlling and knew exactly how to push her to get what he wanted. He would never change and Kagami knew that. Back when they first met when she was fourteen and he sixteen, he was a different person, he was kind and vulnerable and so, so sweet to Kagami. Now? Now she barely recognized him. Now he looked just like the bullies that had tormented him in their High School years. But she was no longer the brooding, rebellious teenager she once was. Now she was 25 years old and while she still loved him dearly, they were toxic for one another. Kagami needed to set both Niragi and herself free no matter how much it hurt to do so.
As they crossed the busy street, Kagami and Sato narrowly dodged a trio of delinquents spinning wildly in the center of the crossing with one of the trio on the shoulders of another. They somewhat reminded Kagami of her and her older brothers when they were children. Before life showed them how cruel the world was. Kagami had half a mind to ask what they were doing, but was pushed along by the other hundreds of people also trying to cross.
As the two women pushed their way through the crowd of people, Kagami manged to catch sight of Niragi, who was sitting by himself on a park bench waiting for her. He was under the impression they were meeting up to discuss their recent engagement, but he couldn't be more wrong. It was Sato who had suggested the pair meet in a public place, mostly because Sato herself knew that there was a decent part of Kagami who didn't want to do this. That and being in public prevented Niragi from convincing her to stay with him or from starting an argument with her. Kagami swallowed hard as she kept her eyes set onto him. He had not yet noticed her. Niragi had been with her for everything. He knew the darkness in her heart and the names of all her demons and loved her regardless. Sato didn't even know half the things Niragi knew. Those types of thoughts made Kagami wonder if they were meant to be: A twisted love affair that only ended when one of them died. In a lot of ways, despite the mind games and violence, Niragi was the only person that made Kagami feel seen.
As the crowd began to filter out, Niragi's eyes finally found her and a smile spread across his face that made Kagami's heart begin to race. His eyes bored into her very soul. She wished things could be different. But unfortunately, neither of them could change and become better people while they stayed with each other... at least, that's what Sato and her brother Daiki had told her.
"Hey Kagami, check out the fireworks" Sato's voice rang in her eyes and drew her gaze onto the lights in the sky. It was beautiful, but dread filled her heart. Something was very wrong.

"Kagami, did you hear me?" The words of the Beach's creator and number one Takeru Danma, known as Hatter to everyone rang in her ears.
They were in the meeting room and every executive was present which was how Kagami knew that something was very wrong. But she never actually expected to hear the words that escaped Hatter's lips. Death to all Traitors. It was the new third rule being introduced and apparently Kagami had missed the others echoing their approval. All eyes were on her and in turn she looked at each member.
Sitting on either side of Hatter were Keiichi Kuzuryu and Morizono Aguni. Both were the stoic quiet types and while she had little to do with Kuzuryu, Kagami knew Aguni quite well now. In fact, they had breakfast together most mornings... because she invited herself to said breakfasts despite Aguni's clear irritation about it and her. They... tolerated each other due to her relationship with Niragi who acted as his second in command of the Militant Corp. Kagami's eyes lingered on Aguni for a few seconds as she examined his stoic expression. Aguni always had a good poker face but during this meeting it seemed like his mind was in a different place.
