Love In Borderland Niragi x OC x Chishiya

The Past

Kagami was laying down on the king bed she shared with Niragi. She was bored out of her mind ever since Chishiya dropped her off to her room.  Niragi would be back whenever Aguni let them go, but for now she had nothing to do but lay in bed and think about Chishiya and his plan.

Steal the cards and leave the Beach. It seemed simple enough but there was nowhere to run. It wasn't like in the real world where she could just get on a plane and hide in whatever country took her fancy. They were restricted to Tokyo and that made running into Beach members quite a likely scenario.

Truthfully, Kagami kinda liked the idea of her, Chishiya and Kuina running off together. Even after one proper conversation Kagami knew that she loved Kuina and Chishiya? Well, she liked him more than she would ever admit to him. He was an interesting man and she wondered what kind of person he was before entering this world. There was much more to him than meets the eye and she felt that he held himself back emotionally to protect himself. He definitely saw right through her, but she doubted that he ever expected that Kagami could see right through him as well. It was rather strange being so easily read by Chishiya. She was so used to allowing people, even Niragi, to see what she wanted them to see. Perhaps, in some sick sort of way, Chishiya knew her better than Niragi did. Although, she still wasn't too sure about sharing the past with him.

"Kagami, you in there?" Kuina's voice followed by a couple of soft knocks rang through Kagami's eyes. A broad smile formed on her face as she jumped out of bed to answer the door. She half expected Chishiya to ignore her request to have Kuina come and visit. Kagami opened the door to see Kuina who had three bottles of wine in her arms and her fake cigarette hanging out of her mouth. Her eyes lit up at the sight of Kagami who took two of the bottles before stepping aside and letting her into the room.

"I'm so glad Chishiya told you to come up. I had a feeling he wouldn't and I'd be stuck here bored out of my mind." Kagami smiled, closing the door behind them and moving back onto the bed. Kuina smiled and sat across from her on the bed.

"Chishiya told me about the plan you guys came up with to do with Niragi. It was really smart." Kuina smiled. Kagami paused for a moment, Chishiya had made it seem like they had planned things together. It was a comfort at least to know that Kuina had nothing to do with trying to betray her. But it did make her nervous about what he would do with Kuina in this plan. Now that Kagami and Chishiya were 'friends' she would do everything she could to protect Kuina.

"Yeah, Chishiya is clever. I'm just glad it worked out. One step closer to finding out where the cards are and then getting out of here." Kagami smiled as Kuina started to pour two glasses of wine.

"Yeah, he was really happy that you were okay." Kuina said absentmindedly as she handed Kagami a glass and took a sip out of her own.

"Happy? I don't think I've ever seen him happy before. He always just seemed to be apathetic." Kagami said, causing Kuina to look up at her and giggle.

"I guess I mean happy for Chishiya. He doesn't really like anyone, but he likes you. He said that you're so much more than he expected and he's glad that he asked you to join us." Kuina said as Kagami drank a rather large mouthful of wine.

"That doesn't seem right." Kagami said, "Chishiya doesn't seem the type to like anyone. He more uses people I think." She shrugged and Kuina flashed her a small smile in response.

"I think Chishiya just doesn't like to get too close to people. Maybe he was hurt pretty bad back in our world. In some ways I think you and he are quite similar." Kuina stated causing Kagami to frown at her.

"I highly doubt that." She laughed, finishing what was left of her glass of wine before she grabbed the bottle and poured herself another.

"Since you and Niragi arrived at the Beach, name a single person other than him that you're close to. You keep to yourself, just like Chishiya. He also thinks you an observer like him which is why he asked you to join the plan in the first place. He watched you for for nearly a week before he was sure you were the right person." Kuina explained. "I think you both try to keep your emotions in check. You know, we played a Clubs game together once and you were amazing. If it wasn't for you we wouldn't have made it out of there. You were so calm and fearless. So I wasn't too surprised when you moved up to rank 8 in the executives."
