Love In Borderland Niragi x OC x Chishiya

The Plan

Kagami followed Chishiya at a short distance through the resort, that had become the Beach's base, until they reached the annex and exited the building, turning left towards the pool deck. The deck was crowded with other Beach members who had all been partying for quite some time while the executives were in their meeting. In a lot of ways, Kagami envied them; they were the closest thing to free that they would ever see in this country. No responsibilities. No Work. No bills to pay. They were free to drink, take drugs and have as much sex as they wanted. Apparently that also meant in public for some Beach members. Kagami was quick to turn her head away from two wasted Beach members who had begun to undress on a beach chair.

Thankfully public sex wasn't Niragi's go to. In fact, Kagami was pretty sure she would much prefer to get into a screaming match with Niragi than have public sex with him. Kagami couldn't help but grimace slightly at the thoughts of the many, many fights they had over the years even before they had ended up in this place. Although, playing the death games and trying to generally survive had seemed to have made their fights more volatile and not from Niragi's side of things.

Kagami when pushed into a corner became like a wild animal and she wasn't afraid to kick, claw and bite her way out of any situation that pushed her to that point. The next day would be followed by whispers and rumours about where Niragi's bruises and scratches came from that often covered his face and neck. Kagami wondered how people would react if they found out that it was her that caused those marks. Then they would all know that she was garbage. Niragi on the other hand other than attempting to either restrain her or defend himself had never actually crossed that line. Yet. But, Niragi had other faults that didn't leave marks like hers did. He was cruel, manipulative and didn't take no for an answer in any situation and some of those moments cut deeper than any physical attack she could ever land on Niragi. Those volatile times had grown rare now, but the feeling of those nights made her want to peel off her skin and bash her head against the wall. Kagami knew how to be mean when she wanted to be. Just as Niragi knew how to push her buttons to make her mean.

The arguments they had were always along the same lines, Niragi expected a lot more from Kagami than she could give him. He wanted unconditional love and support and no matter how much Kagami truly cared and loved him, she couldn't cross that final barrier to let him all the way in. She had learnt from a young age how dangerous love could be when you were on the losing side of it. So, ever since she had met Niragi she had made sure that he had always needed and wanted her more than she did him. While it worked well for the first five years of their relationship, Niragi eventually caught onto the fact that he gave a lot more to the relationship than she did and rather than leave like any other person would, he stayed... and grew mean. Now, it seemed the only thing that kept them together was familiarity and a certain level of love that bordered on obsession and possessiveness on both their parts.

As Chishiya and Kagami continued to move through the crowd, they began to approach a tall woman with dreadlocks who stood by herself underneath a beach umbrella. As they got closer, the woman started to move towards them with a smile.

"Kagami, this is Kuina." Chishiya said, gesturing between the two women.

Kagami held her hand out to shake Kuina's hand. She was beautiful and at least a head taller than Kagami with a gentle smile that put her at ease as she shook Kagami's hand. Since arriving at the Beach, Kagami hadn't really had the chance to talk to anyone that wasn't an executive member like herself, Niragi or Chishiya, who she had spoken to only a handful of times. But other than Niragi, none of the conversations she had with the others held any substance. It was simply a means to an end or a discussion about the Beach.

"It's nice to meet you Kagami. You're Niragi's girlfriend, right? Were you together before all this or did you fall in love here?" Kuina smiled at her with bright eyes that threw Kagami off a little.
