Kagami awoke next to Kuina, rubbing her burning eyes from the lack of sleep. Her and Kuina had stayed up talking well into the morning hours. She had told Kuina all about her and Niragi as well as what her father was like. Kagami had given up all of her secrets except for one. It was the only secret that Kagami would never share with anyone; it was to stay between her and Niragi and she knew that he felt the same way about it. It, in a way, was what kept them going back to each other. They were like two moths drawn to a flame. Neither one of them could stay away from the other. No matter how badly they hurt the other.
Kagami had also learnt a lot about Kuina's past as well. She was honestly proud of Kuina for opening up about her past life and her relationship with her father after she had decided to transition into a woman. As Kagami looked over to Kuina who was still sound asleep, she smiled lightly. If only one person could leave this hellhole, no one deserved it more than Hikari Kuina. There was a true kindness to her soul that Kagami would never be able to replicate no matter how hard she tried. Kagami got out of the bed, moved towards the door and opened it. As she looked up she was surprised to see Chishiya standing at the door, his fist raised as if he was about to knock on the door.
"Morning, Chishiya." Kagami smiled as she moved past him. She assumed he was there to see Kuina.
"Kagami, up early again I see." Chishiya's voice rang from behind her. Kagami glanced back to see that Chishiya was following her. "How was your night?"
"Fine. Kuina made me feel a lot better." Kagami answered as the two of them waited for the elevator to come down to them "Speaking of last night though, lets just pretend it didn't happen." Kagami didn't look at Chishiya when she spoke but she could feel his gaze on her.
"Why? Because you had a panic attack?" Chishiya asked. Kagami said nothing, instead she looked down to her feet. "There's no shame in that. Niragi's just an asshole."
"He's an asshole but he's right." Kagami answered. "He's all I have and without him I'm nothing." Kagami spoke with a bitterness because she believed the words she was saying. It was Niragi who got her away from her parents and without him she would likely be dead or a drug addict like her eldest brother, Hachi.
"I don't believe that. You're far too clever and I think without Niragi you'd just be free." Chishiya's words caused Kagami to turn her head to look at him. "I also think Kuina thinks quite highly of you." Kagami smiled lightly and the two of them walked into the elevator together.
"And what about you?" She asked and Chishiya raised his eyebrow in response. "What do you think of me?"
"Well," Chishiya paused for a moment, his eyes flickering between her and the elevator doors. "I'm still trying to work that out. But it's good."
"How nice and vague." Kagami laughed, "Such a Chishiya response. You've gotta consider every aspect... every angle. I can't say I blame you, I've done the same with you and Kuina." Chishiya gave her a rare smile,
"And? What have you considered about me?" Chishiya asked lightly as the elevator came to a stop and the pair exited. Kagami turned to face him,
"I'm still working it out." She said with a wink. Chishiya gave a nod that hid the small smile on his face before he turned on his heel to walk away from her,
"Good to know. Also, the two spies have been captured. Lets meet up with Kuina later in the day and see who they are. I'm interested in them." Chishiya gave a final look at her over his shoulder before he walked away with his hands in his pockets. He seemed to be in a bit of a rush which made sense once she saw Niragi moving towards her out of the corner of her eye. Kagami took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
