Pandora's mind was plagued with the thought of Mrs. Weasley's words since Christmas. She hadn't brought up the topic to Bill though, since she didn't want to upset him during Christmas. If she did, he could've broken up with her, and never want to see her again. She couldn't chance that, so she waited until they were back on the train headed to Hogwarts.
"Bill, how serious is our relationship?" Pandora asked, causing Bill to shrug.
"I mean, I love you. We had sex while at the Burrow, if that's not serious, I don't know what is." He replied, making her frown.
"No, I meant, do you plan for us to be together forever?" She asked, making him frown as well.
"Where are these questions coming from? What's wrong?" He asked, causing her to sigh.
"It's just—on Christmas when I was helping your mum in the kitchen, she was asking all these questions and--" She began, before he cut her off.
"Ah, Mum, she has a good way of getting under people's skin," He commented,"What kind of questions?"
"Well, she was asking about how serious I was about you and I. She wanted to know if I loved you and Enzo, and if I was okay with Enzo being a part of my life." Pandora explained, and Bill nodded.
"What else?" He asked, knowing there was more.
"Bill--" Pandora began, but he cut her off.
"What else, Pandora?" He questioned,"Obviously it's something if it's got you questioning if I think we're serious or not." He snipped, making her sigh.
"She asked if I was ready to be a mother to Enzo, and I told her that me being a mother is up to you. I can't say yes or no, when I'm not even given the choice by you. She can't offer that up to me, and--" She rambled, before he cut her off.
"Pandora, calm down," Bill said,"Try to get some rest. It'll be a few hours before we get to Hogwarts." He added, and the girl simply nodded.
Pandora grabbed her small bag and placed it on the seat to use as a pillow, before she laid down and closed her eyes. She took Bill's complete lack of talking about the subject as an answer in its own. It seemed to her that he didn't want her as Enzo's mother, and he just wasn't sure how to say anything, so he didn't say anything at all. He ignored the subject, and that hurt more than him blatantly telling her no to her face.
Bill watched her sleep for a moment, as he thought about what he should've said to her. He knew she was upset with him, but he didn't know what to say. He never had to let a girl into his life like that before, not as his son's mother. Even his son's mother didn't want to stick around in Enzo's life long, and he couldn't help but believe that other women would hurt his little boy like that again.
To be honest, he loved Pandora a lot. She was a smart girl, very pretty, and very kind. She had a caring soul, but he was still a little scared. He watched her with his son, and she showed him every day that she would be a good mother, but he didn't know if he should trust her. The idea of not trusting her hurt him as well, but he couldn't help but feel the little tickle in the back of his head telling him to doubt her for some reason.
As he sat holding Enzo, he heard his son start to whimper. The little boy's watery eyes scanned the compartment, before they landed on Pandora. He cried when he seen her, and Bill's heart dropped. His son wanted to be with Pandora. So, instead of making a fuss about it or waking the girl up, he simply picked up the girl's arm and placed his son on the seat next to her, before wrapping her arm gently around the baby.
Pandora's arm instinctively tightened around the baby just enough to secure him, as the little boy snuggled into her and fell asleep once again. Seeing this made Bill question if he was making the right choice to ignore the situation, or if he should truly consider letting Pandora be the mother Enzo needed. Enzo truly loved the woman, but Bill was scared, and he didn't know how to handle the situation. Standing up from his seat, he left the compartment in search of Charlie. He then pulled his brother to another empty compartment and shut the door.
"I need your advice." Bill said, and Charlie chuckled.
"That's a first." Charlie joked, but Bill didn't laugh.
"Mum made Pandora all worried about our relationship, and she said Mum asked about Pandora being Enzo's new mother. I kind of ignored the situation and told Pandora she should rest. I think I screwed up, she looked wrecked after I ignored it," Bill explained,"Enzo didn't make me feel any better when he cried to be with her to sleep." He added, and Charlie nodded.
"Bill, I know you love Pandora, and so does Enzo. I'm not going to tell you what's right and wrong here, but I think you should really think about your relationship. If you truly love her, and believe she's going to be your forever, should you really be questioning if she's good enough to be Enzo's mum?" Charlie questioned, making Bill sigh.
"You're right, and for the first time I mean it," Bill replied,"I'm going to think on it, and when we get to Hogwarts I'll hopefully have my answer." He added, and Charlie chuckled.
"Don't think too hard, just remember, if you truly love her and plan to be with her, or if you don't, then you need to do the right thing for her and for Enzo." He said, before he got up and left.
Bill soon went back to the compartment Pandora and Enzo were sleeping in, and he began to truly think about his choices and his decisions. He wanted to do what was right...
