"I can't believe we get a week of being lazy before school actually starts. What has gotten into Dumbledore?" Nymphadora commented, as she walked over to Pandora.
"I know, it's brilliant. I can sit and read for a week before I'm stuck doing homework and studying for the rest of the year." Pandora replied, making Nymphadora laugh.
"Oh, Panda, you're such a nerd." Nymphadora murmured, sending her cousin a smile.
"Dora!" Charlie called, causing Nymphadora to look over at the redhead.
"Go hang out with your friend. I'm fine here." Pandora commented, and Nymphadora nodded, before quickly scampering off.
Pandora watched her cousin run off, as she opened her book once again and laid against the tree she was sitting under in the courtyard. When she looked around at everyone who was walking past her, she sighed lightly. She wished she had friends, but most people didn't like her because she was the sister of Sirius Black, the serial killer, and Regulus Black, a death eater.
"Is Baby Black sad?" A Slytherin taunted, as he stepped closer with a few friends.
"What's this?" Another Slytherin asked, as he snatched the book from Pandora's hand.
"Give that back!" Pandora exclaimed, reaching for the book.
"I don't think so, blood traitor." Another spat, as he pointed his wand at the girl.
Pandora stood to her feet and tried to grab the book, but the Slytherins kept backing up and laughing. Grabbing her wand, she pointed it at the Slytherins. She was definitely outnumbered, but that didn't mean she shouldn't defend herself.
"Alarte Ascendare!" One Slytherin shouted, but Pandora was faster.
"Protego!" She exclaimed, defending herself from the charm.
"Engorgio Skullus!"
"Protego," She retorted, quickly waving her wand,"Everte Statum!" She cried out, watching a couple Slytherins fly back.
More than one Slytherin began to throw hexes and curses at the girl, and she wasn't able to fight them all off. She did get a couple cuts on her face and legs, but it hadn't gotten bad.
"Crucio!" Exclaimed a Slytherin, causing Pandora to crumble to the ground in pain.
She held in her screams of pain, but whimpers were evidently heard by all of the Slytherins surrounding her. After what felt like years of torture, the Slytherin stopped using the curse and stood tall with a smirk. Two of the Slytherins held her book in their hands, before they began to tear the pages out and rip the book in half.
"No!" She cried, but her voice was barely audible.
"Cry for us, blood traitor." One taunted, throwing the torn up book on the ground.
"Let's go." Another said, pulling his friends away.
Pandora could remember their faces well; Francis Parkinson, Quentin Yaxley, Rufus Nott, and Zackary Westbrook--the only half blood in the friend group. As the four Slytherins disappeared, Pandora laid on the ground trying to regain her own strength from the pain she had recieved. After a moment or two, Pandora forced herself on to her knees, as she crawled over to collect the pieces of her ruined book. She felt tears rushing to her eyes, knowing this was one of the last books Regulus had given her before he died.
Putting the book together the best she could, she held it to her chest. Slowly and painfully, the girl stood to her feet. Walking to her common room was hard, since she could barely move her body. Blood was still seeping through her cuts, and her body was very much sore from the torture she had just recieved.
When she walked into the common room, she ignored anyone that was in the room. She held on to the sides of the stairs, as she climbed up them to get to her dorm room. Bill had been sitting in the common room with Enzo in his lap, as his friend Casen sat beside him.
"Whoa." Casen whispered, barely audible to the ear when he seen Pandora walk into the common room.
"Pandora!" Bill exclaimed, trying to get the girl's attention, but she didn't even acknowledge him.
"You know her?" Casen asked, and Bill nodded.
"Yes, she's a new friend of mine," He answered, glancing back over at the empty stairs,"I need to find out what happened to her, and who did it." Bill commented, causing Casen to frown.
"I don't think she'll like that. She's always been a loner, I doubt she wants you getting into her business." Casen replied, but Bill shook his head.
"No, friends help each other, especially when something like this happens," Bill said,"Besides, she saved my little brother, Percy, and his friend, Oliver Wood, from a few Slytherins. I think that's more than enough extra reason to help her. She's quiet, but she's nice. You should get to know her." He added, and his friend simply nodded.
Casen wasn't sure if he'd ever actually befriend the Black girl, but if Bill was willing to befriend her, he figured the friendship wouldn't be too unnecessary.
As Casen and Bill talked downstairs, Pandora sat on her bed trying to mutter healing charms to fix her cuts. Once her legs were healed from cuts, she laid back on her bed to relax and hopefully stop the pain. She had been hit with the cruciatus curse a couple of times before by her mother and father, but she could never become immune to the pain. She hated the pain, and she almost wondered if the pain would just end of if she just left.
Pandora felt herself becoming tired, but she wasn't sure if it was from the pain and blood loss, or if she was just exhausted all together. The girl was tired, since she never slept well at Hogwarts. Often times she would have nightmares, but when she didn't, she still had a hard time sleeping through the night. The Slytherins had caused her so much trauma, as did her parents when they were alive, so she never felt safe. She just wished it all would end and she would finally have her happy ending...
