Nancy quickly puts her keys in the doorknob, opening the door and pushing it closed behind her, making her way into the kitchen and crossing the living room where Ted is, him just laying on the recliner chair.

"Oh look one of our children finally decided to come back home." Ted mentions, Nancy just rolling her eyes at him.

"Where's mom?" Nancy questions with her arms crossed, raising her eyebrows at Ted.

"Must I have to keep up with everything?" He questions back while holding the remote in his hand.

"Nancy?" Karen questions, rounding the corner from the kitchen. "Nancy where have you been? Where is Mike?"

"Mom." Nancy says while making her way over to her. "Do these look familiar to you?" She questions
while showing Karen the picture of the two bows.

"What? Nancy I don't understand." Karen says confused.

"Do they look familiar or not?" Nancy questions more firmly.

"I mean...maybe..I don't know." Karen shrugs.

"Maybe, what do you mean maybe?"

"Nancy I use to wear bows all the time as a kid I liked them." Karen says. "Why are you asking me this?"

Nancy puts down the picture slowly while thinking. "Where is the photo book?" Nancy asks, going over to the shelf in the living room while fishing through the many books.

"Dammit where is it?!"

"Hey language!" Ted mentions.

"Nancy what is going on? I'm getting worried." Karen mentions concerned.

Nancy finally finds the photo book, quickly making her way to the kitchen and slapping down the kitchen table, opening it up and frantically searching through the pages.

"Nancy what is going on?!" Karen questions.

Nancy can barely hear her, she finally gets to a page and she stops, her eyes wide while she takes the picture out of the photo book and looks at it. She brings the picture more closely to her. It is a picture of Karen when she was young, probably ten at the most, her hair up in two ponytails...

While wearing the exact bows in the photo.

"Nancy what is wrong? You're scaring me." Karen says. Nancy quickly goes to make her way to her and Ted's room, Karen quickly following her while continuously trying to ask her what is going on. Nancy goes into the bathroom, going over to Karen's jewelry box and dumping everything out of it.

"Nancy!" Karen exclaims.

Nancy looks down at the floor, going on her knees and picking them up. It is the bows, they look more older and run down now but Nancy knows these are the bows. She has seen them countless times before, she remembers one day where Karen mentioned they were really the only part of her childhood that she keeps close because really that was the only thing she had.

"Nancy what the hell is going on?!" Karen questions firmly.

Nancy slowly turns to Karen, holding the bows in her hand along with the pictures. "Mom...I am going to ask you something and I need you to be honest with me." Nancy says carefully, feeling her heart beat a million miles a minute, her throat growing dry and some tears prickling in her eyes. "Were you adopted?" Her voice cracks with the question.

Karen's eyes widen, her looking taken aback while she looks at Nancy. "Nancy..."

"Mom!" Nancy exclaims, her jaw clenched while she looks at her mother, it is not out of anger, it is out of desperation. "Please...were you adopted?" She questions again.
