One hour and 5 notebooks full of data on the Quirks of the contestants on a show he had never heard of the anemia eventually got to him and he had fallen asleep on the couch. His mind was currently trying to break down a Quirk that allowed the user to create pieces of themselves on objects within a certain distance, excellent for stealth as the person can put for example an eye or ear replica in a location where it would not be easily found. He was laughing so hard when the contestant's hand suddenly appeared on one of the judge's backs and a scream was heard from another after seeing the appendage.
That was the last thing he remembered as he woke up to a TV playing the sounds of a crackling fireplace and something warm and fuzzy close to his thigh. He looked down and saw a bunny/cat thing curled next to him. It was red in color while its tail, mane, and tuft of its hair had the same color as Bakugou, maybe a few shades brighter. Long ears give a rabbit look, and damn it looks so fuzzy!
Without conscious thought, the verdanette put a hand over the creature and gently scratched its head. His heart fluttered as he heard it purr in satisfaction, still in a deep sleep, and stretched itself to a belly-up position.
"Aww...it's so cute!" Izuku chuckled and continued to do belly rubs on the creature. It purred even louder. "You are such a cute pet...wait."
Izuku jolted as his sleepy brain went into overdrive. "I don't remember Ophi-san telling me that she has a pet. And where is she?" The verdanette then looked around, unable to locate the serpentine. "She said she wasn't going to leave me alone until Eevee arrived. Where is she?"
"Hmmm...? Did somebody call my name?"
Confusion turned into dread at the voice that was coming from the red rabbit/cat thing. Brown-green eyes looked back lazily back to the forest green, then looked back at the hand that was giving belly rubs.
A few moments had passed from the duo before both of them screamed in horror at the situation they were in.
"AAAAHHHH!! I'm sorry!!" Izuku's mind was reeling. I just groped a girl! Oh, God, I feel so dirty! I am just like those-"
"Ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod, I just went belly-up on someone! I feel so stupid!" The now-identified Eevee zoomed all over the living room, running into things and knocking some items over in fear of doing something crazy once again and in front of a stranger.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Izuku was hyperventilating, fearing the consequences that he had caused. "I didn't mean to assault you! I am a horrible person!!"
Eevee then stopped at the sound of the boy's distress and remembered what her mom had said. She did not tell her everything, just enough to know that certain things may trigger him. She even remembered that he was nervous to meet her, hence the reason she was in this form.
So she moved close to the verdanette, laid in front of him, and gently put a paw on his nose. The verdanette jolted but did not freak out any further. "Ne, nene, it's alright. It was my fault. Normally I keep my distance if someone is asleep or nervous, but...hehe..." Eevee chuckled and sweatdropped. "Your body heat felt so good, I couldn't help myself."
Izuku blinked in confusion. "Eh?" Did I feel good? "Body heat?"
Eevee nodded, "You have an abnormally high temp and it felt so nice my Flame Form got drawn to it, hence why I look like a Flareon if you know Pokemon." She then put her paw down and stood up. "Normally I am in my base form, but if things trigger an adaptation then my body immediately transforms to what is most suitable."
Eevee then looked at the verdanette again as she could see stars forming in his eyes. "Oh, wow! So you are basically like an Eevee that can evolve but temporarily, just like the videogame itself?? That is awesome!!"
It was the girl's turn to be surprised. "Eh?"
Izuku grabbed a fresh notebook and started to write some of the information down. "Does your Quirk have a name?"
"Eh? Oh! It is called, strangely enough, Eeveelution. Adaptability was already taken by some other Quirk user." The girl was surprised that someone was interested in how her Quirk works, it was nerve-wracking but exciting at the same time. "Hey, are you comfortable if I transform to my hybrid form, or would you like me to stay like this for a while?"
The verdanette jolted for a few seconds to register what she had said. "You can transform from creature to hybrid?" The girl nodded and again had to blink as he went to Supernova mode. "That is awesome! I would like to see it!!" He then jolted and blushed a bright red, hiding his face behind the notebook.
"I m-m-mean, nevermind! I don't want to see!!" Eevee chuckled as she realized he thought she would be naked. The girl just laughed at his embarrassment, and he just peeked his eyes over the notebook and Eevee just melted.
"Aww, you're so cute!!" Eevee said, causing the boy to steam up. "You don't need to worry, I'm not naked."
The verdanette still looked like he was about to die, and she felt sorry for him. "You know what, I'll be back. It won't be long. Seeing Izuku nod, she walked out of the room and transformed into her humanoid form, keeping her red skin color with ears and a cream-yellow tail. Once she checked herself and made sure she was decent with capris and a short-sleeved shirt with Ophiuchi's logo, the girl headed back to the living room.
Izuku was still sitting on the floor, shoulders hunched and he looked like he was crying. "I am a horrible person, I t-touched her...I touched her!! I am a pervert!!" Violent tears were falling from the boy's cheeks, crying in despair." I am no different from them!!"
Eevee widened her eyes in realization. He might have been a victim of something that tormented him. She slowly walked around the boy and sat cross-legged a few feet in front of him.
"You didn't know." She said soothingly. "You did not do it on purpose. It was my fault that I was close to you while you were asleep."
"That does n-not excuse my actions." Izuku sniffled, not making eye contact. "I'm a monster."
That word made Eevee's tail twitch in anger and said sternly. "No, you are not."
Izuku flinched at the change of tone and worried that he was about to get hit. But he did register what the girl said. He slowly looked at her solid brownish-green eyes and saw that she was now smiling and her fluffy cream-yellow tail was wagging behind her. "I-I'm not?"
"No, you're not. Do you know why?" The verdanette shook his head, and she continued. "Because you still have compassion."
"Eh?"
"Honesty, courtesy, sympathy, empathy, emotions that prove you are human." Eevee then continued. "If you didn't you wouldn't have been able to restrain yourself once you realized."
Izuku then cried tears of happiness and for the first time in his life, leapt forward and gave a stranger-to-now-friend a powerful hug, relishing the feeling of her returning the favor. "Thank you..."
Eevee just smiled. "What are friends for?"
