Katsuki finally arrived back at the courtroom and he saw his mother in front of the petite judge, who was looking at the blonde female with an expressionless stare. Izuku was next to the Snake Bitch and the Blind Attorney while Recovery Girl and Eraserhead were in the back corner. He walked in to sit on the bench that he was assigned to when that same judge called out to him.
"Mr. Bakugou, will you approach the bench?"
Fuck.
Once he arrived he felt Izuku's eyes on him and immediately looked down to avoid eye contact. As brave as he is, he was afraid that his friend-for-now was pissed at him. That was even scarier than his mom going into murder mode.
"I hear your mother wants to adopt Izuku Midoriya, are you aware of that?" Periwinkle asked, noting the nervousness the boy was exhibiting. She needs to see something.
Katsuki nodded, "Yes, as far as I am aware we wanted Izuku to live with us since before the attack about a week ago."
"Do you think you are deserving of being with Mr. Midoriya?"
"At this time, no. I don't feel like I even deserve to be near him." Katsuki said, eyes becoming glossy as tears threaten to fall once again. "My actions were not acceptable and I should have thought of other ways to protect him without injury."
Periwinkle activated her Quirk and she saw massive waves of remorse radiating from the blonde teen. He is suffering just as badly. "And if there was a way to allow your family to be eligible?"
"If God does give this asshole a chance, then I would take it, no questions asked."
"Katsuki! We are still speaking to the judge!"
"I-I can't keep the filter on, it has been a fucked up day."
"KATSUKI!!"
Periwinkle looked at the teen for a few minutes before going to Izuku. "Mr. Midoriya, how do you feel about this?"
Katsuki then looked up and immediately saw the fluorescent green of his friend. He gulped when he saw a look of anger before the mask went on. "Even though Katsuki has hurt me, I knew of his intentions so I just took it in stride."
The party looked at him in shock. He continued.
"If society found out that their Star Pupil was a Quirkless Supporter, they would crush him almost or just as bad as they have done me. The only option in any angle was to keep the facade that he thought was the best, though I could tell over time it consumed his pride."
Katsuki flinched but could not look away this time. The Nerd knew?
"I do not blame Kacchan for his role. The ones to blame is this society where the Quirkless, Undesirables, and the Mutants are regarded as just pedestals to those who think they are superior, like some heroes in the QRA."
No...
"I also blame myself for not reaching out sooner. If I had not put a block that no one cares and that no one believed me, I may have left her grasp sooner."
Why?
"How?"
Everyone looked at Katsuki curiously, his body shaking and eyes wide in disbelief and sorrow.
"How can you not blame me when I have given you hell!!? I tortured you!" The blonde teen was hyperventilating. "I used my Quirk on you, sent you to the hospital with broken ribs and burns, did this on a bi or tri-weekly basis, made you cry, I-I..." Tears fell violently down as he spilled everything. "I even told you to kill yourself and you still don't blame me?? HOW!!??"
"YOU TOLD HIM WHAT!!??" Mitsuki yelled at the new information her son just revealed. "You told him to commit suicide!?"
Mitsuki was about to smack the ever-living shit out of her son when a green flame appeared between the two Bakugous.
"Aunt Mitsuki, wait," Izuku said with a calm voice, and the female backed away a bit. He released the flames and they went back to the mini cherub-like wings. "Yes, I can't deny that what you said did hurt, but it had hurt you more the moment it had left your lips."
Katsuki blanched.
"You never really meant it. I forgive you."
"I-I don't deserve your forgiveness. Not one iota." The explosive blonde said finally, now looking down with a soft smile.
"That is why I forgive you. You guilt tripped yourself long enough." Izuku replied, then without warning hit the blonde upside the head.
"Itte!"
"What I don't forgive is that you risked your arms to save our asses!! You still want to be a Hero right!!?? Then don't do that again!!" Izuku smacked him upside the head a second time and the blonde cringed at the impressive strength.
"Itte! All right, I get it!!"
The entire group laughed at the Bunny now bearing fangs for a few seconds, before Periwinkle brought them back to attention. She looked grave.
"Due to the developments of the court, I have a right to ban the Bakugous from adopting Izuku."
The Bakugou looked down in shame and sadness, and Izuku leaned against Ophelia for support. They had a feeling things may not be so simple, and maybe it was for the best.
Periwinkle then gave a slight huff. "That is, if I hadn't thrown away the charges against the Bakugous."
"Eh?" Trio.exe stopped working.
Periwinkle then smiled with a look of passion. "The charges Inko Midoriya had tried to put on you have been tossed, as well as ALL charges and assaults against Katsuki. You are eligible to adopt."
"Y-your joking, right?" Katsuki said in disbelief. This couldn't be real, it does not feel real. "You aren't shitting us with false hope?"
"Katsuki!"
Periwinkle just smiled, disarming the blonde boy. "We of the court believe that your actions were just in that particular situation. With this society having some kind of messed up pyramid system we have little choice but to follow suit in some circumstances."
"B-but I-"
"You were willing to become a Villain to save your friend, that we consider a Heroic thing risking your career like that. You have my Recommendation to get to UA, as the world needs a badass like you."
Katsuki.exe stopped working. Reboot failed. Restarting...
"EEEEEEEHHHHHH!!!????"
Periwinkle hands the blonde the Form of Recommendation to the Bakugous, with the official Periwinkle Crest.
"Kacchan, that is amazing! You get a chance to still become a Pro Hero!" Izuku yelled and hugged the still-stunned teen. "I was so worried that you wouldn't be able to."
"Wha-? How-?" The poor teen was so overwhelmed that the only thing he could do was slump against the greenette and with an eep from Izuku both fell to the ground from a deadweight Katsuki.
"I think you killed him." Mitsuki said, causing everyone else to laugh. "Thank you, you don't know how much this means to me, to him. He held so much guilt."
"We understand," Periwinkle said, now getting serious. "You will have to follow the protocol for adoption. We will come by your house for inspection, and you will take classes and training. These will take several months. Until then, Izuku will still be in custody with Ophiuchi and Murdock."
"C-can we at least meet every once in a while?" Izuku asked, now out from underneath his friend. "It has been a while since we talked."
"I am sure we can arrange a sleepover. Would that be ok, Mitsuki? It will have to be at my place."
"Sure, it will ease my son's mind as well."
