As Barak and Adar were wondering around the mountain region to get some quiet away from the massive battle royale going down below, they heard someone coming up a different side of their mountain.
"Shit, get down," Barak whispered to his older brother as the two got behind a stone "You think it's the guy you met before the tournament?"
"Nah," Adar whispered back, trying not to alert the new people of their position "This energy feels different. Much more chaotic."
Barak took a quick look around the corner, being very careful not to be seen, then he turned back to his brother "It's two people. A male and female. The guy's huge, like, Bane level huge."
"Ya serious?" Adar asked "What about the girl?"
"Aside from being about a head and a half shorter, I didn't see anything. Maybe they're friendly?"
"Maybe in normal circumstances, but this is straight up war," Adar reminded his brother "If we all get knocked out... it's over. We can't take any chances... let's just get out of here quickly." Barak nodded and the two got up, the Storm Elemental charging a lightning bolt to teleport them away.
"What was that?" The male asked, causing the female to look to where his gaze fell "Two people."
"Ah crap." The two had no choice but to turn around "Uh... hi." The female was suspicious, and the male seemed to notice this, his entire body tensing.
"Woah... big guy," Adar said as he put his hands out "Listen, we mean no harm. We're just up here to get away from the fighting for a while. Hey, what's your names anyway?"
"You can call me Ruby. He is Emerald. We are guardians of power in our universe."
"Ah, that's nice. So is he just not very talkative?"
"Sure, whatever," The female retorted, leaning her weight on her left leg "What were you trying to accomplish, sneaking up on us, I mean."
"We weren't. You guys came up here and we were already here. As far as I'm aware, you were trying to sneak up on us."
"What was that?"
"What is he? A monster who doesn't understand english or just deaf?"
"Don't... goad him," The female told them sternly, then she turned to the male, and told him "It's alright. Calm down, baby." She put her palm on his arm, then looked back at the brothers "Leave before you set him off."
"Uh... I think we already have." They were both getting ready for a fight as the male's body tensed even more.
The female looked up, closed her eyes, let out an exasperated sigh, and told the male "Alright. You have fun with them. When you calm down again, meet me in what's left of the town, okay?" He nodded, then looked back to the brother's as the female walked back down the mountain.
He clenched his fists, then jumped toward Adar, punching at his chest. The Fire Elemental used both forearms to block the strike, his bones feeling as though they had just shattered inside of him. The two stood for a couple seconds, then the Emerald Guardian, pushed him backwards, the two beginning to fly in a straight in in front of each other. Emerald pulled back for another punch, then swung, but Adar simply swerved behind him. Now the two were flying in the opposite positions they previously were.
"You know, for someone so big, you're pretty quick." He dodged under a punch and took his jacket off "You might make for a pretty good warm up!" He caught another punch, then punched Emerald in the jaw, then uppercutted him in the abs "Ow! Wow, you're built to fight." He jumped and kicked him in the chin, then fell back to the snowy ground, landing on his hands.
