Multiversal Tournament

Serenity was walking through the arena, noticing that she didn't have to constantly run away from attacks anymore. She actually kind of enjoyed this half of the tournament. Sure, this meant that it was only a matter of time before the entire multiverse could be destroyed, but just listening to chaos was sometimes calming to her at this point. She casually walked away from a rock falling down at her as by now, she was unphased by that. She had fought demons, giants, warlords, had faced down a small army by herself, and saved the world multiple times now. What was a rock supposed to do to her? She came out in a clearing, most likely created by the battle with Emerald's final form. She looked down into the volcanic cave below and decided to hop down and see what was down there. When she landed, she saw... well what she expected. Magma and rock, that somehow was able to survive the heat of the magma. She had never really understood it, and also never exactly cared enough to ask her mother. She was about to sit down when a fireball came at her from behind. She turned around and punched it, absorbing the flames into her fist.

"So, you took down that other pyromancer." Adar jumped down into the cave "Think you can take me down?" He got into a battle stance.

"That depends, are you going to be as arrogant as the last one?"

"No... I've seen the kind of power you have in that tiny little body of yours. I can't afford to not take you seriously if I wanna save my home."

Serenity's expression softened a bit and she got into a stance too, then she told him "If we win... I promise we're gonna revive everyone, okay?"

"Heh, I like you, Serenity... but I can't let you win this."

"Then, let's just get this over with." Serenity spun and sent a blast of her crimson fire at his head.

"Well, that escalated quickly!" Adar punched a beam of fire at Serenity's.

Their beams collided and shot up into a geyser of red and orange fire. The swirling fire geyser shot up through the ceiling of the cave they were in. They pushed against one another even harder and the geyser seemed to make their fire even more powerful. The geyser was pulled down into the beams and began to push against each other again. The beams pushed past one another and they both felt the impossible heat that each of their flames were immiting. Serenity had better footing so she managed to push Adar back, but that wasn't even an inch. They both let their fires die down and Serenity was sweating a lot whereas Adar was relatively relaxed now. She ran towards him and jumped, then heel kicked a sphere of crimson flames at his head. He rolled away from the attack so she spun, and hook kicked a wave of flames out at him. Adar jumped over the attack and saw her roundhouse kick another wave of fire at him. He flew away from the attack, then she jumped, spun, and swung one more kick. Using this crescent kick, she sent another plume of flames at his head.

"Damn, girl. You're quicker than I thought!" He sent a fireball at the plume and just barely canceled it out.

He let another gigantic fireball fly past him and he could tell that she was slightly panicking. She was sending out far more power than she truly needed to. It made him a little sad that such a young child was this terrified to lose her life and her family. She jumped up into the air and kicked another gigantic rope of fire at him.

"Kid, you're gonna need to relax a bit if you want to defend your home. Your fear is what's making you sloppy."

"Urgh, shut up!"

"Sorry, but I can't let you cause yourself any more damage." He pulled his fist back "Just let this knock you out, please." He sent a massive tsunami of flames right toward her face.

She waited until the fire was reflected in her eyes, then jumped to the side of the attack. The heat of his fire was unbelievable, even though they were fighting within a volcanic cave. She used jets of fire from her back and feet to propel her forwards. She swung two punches at him, which sent bursts of fire out of her fists. Adar jumped over the first one, then used a fire rope to block the second one. She threw another fireball at him, so when he began to fall to the ground, he punched through it. He looked up and saw her continuing to rush towards him. He got down on his back, then spun around, and kicked his legs out wildly in a classic breakdancing move. Serenity didn't have the control to move out of the way, so she was knocked backwards by the attack. She bounced a few times before sliding to a stop on the edge of a hill. She got back up, breathing heavily.

"Serenity, enough. That Phoenix form of yours clearly ripped a lot of energy from you. I doubt you'll be at full power again in this fight."

"Oh... I think you're wrong." She closed her eyes and fixed her hair braid so that her hair wouldn't be in her face. "It feels like this cave is giving me more and more energy every second we're in here."

"I... huh, you're right. Think it's because we're Pyromancers?"

"Probably, which means we can go full force without losing too much energy."

"Let's see if you're right!" The hill Serenity was on began to move away, thanks to the lava, so Adar ran towards her.

He jumped at her and Serenity used this opening to send a fireball up at him. He spun and kicked it away, then punched another fire shot at her head. Serenity jumped backwards and Adar landed on her tiny volcanic rock island. He jumped and kicked a fireball at her, but she jumped to the side of it. He punched another one at her, but Serenity spun, and hook kicked it into the wall. Serenity used the momentum to spin around again, then swung a hook kick with a wave of fire at his head. Adar used both hands to block the strike, then jumped forward, and punched a fireball at her. Serenity just barely managed to avoid the strike by jumping back, then she slapped away another fireball as he ran towards her. She slapped away another, then sent two at him. He kicked both spheres of crimson flames away and continued to block the next few she threw at him. He continued stepping forward until he was within range to punch her. He moved another fireball away, then created two knives made of flames in his hands with an underhand grip.

"Woah," Serenity gasped when she saw the blades.

He swung wildly at her head with them, so she ducked under the attacks, and moved back. He swung up at her neck, so she just leaned back to avoid the strike. He stabbed at her thigh, so she just moved that leg back. She jumped back and pushed his arm away so one of the blades wouldn't stab into her head. She ducked and swerved to the right to avoid a downward stab to her head. He turned and swung at her chest, so Serenity jumped away. He brought his arm up and swung down at her head once again. She grabbed his wrist and knife struck the inside of his elbow. She bent his arm and pushed him backwards.

"Okay, when you get revived later, you have got to teach me how to do that, it's really cool."

"Thank you, but it seems rather worthless against you."

"I've been friends, then siblings, and now in a relationship, with a knife wielding killer for pretty much my entire life. I've gotten used to knife combat."

"You call your own boyfriend a killer?"

"Well, yeah. Hell, he's a mass murderer, he has killed more people than I can count."

"Wow, what a lunatic."

"I mean... yeah."

He jumped towards her and kicked a ball of fire at her head, but she just moved away from the attack again. He swung down at her head, but she ducked away from his attacks. He stabbed down at her shoulder, but she slapped his wrist to knock the attack away. She continued moving backwards when he stabbed down at her head again. He spun and hook kicked a fire wave at her head, but she ducked underneath the attack. She got up and hit him in the forehead with a rock, just to mess with him a little.

He fell backwards and snarled "Damn it! Why can't I hit you anymore?"

He ran toward her again and stabbed down at his head, but she just stepped backwards to dodge it. Serenity kept moving backwards, using her power to melt the walls behind her to continue the battle. She jumped back again, then rolled to the right to avoid the next stab. She got up and leaned away from an upward swing at her head, then she pushed his arm up. She blocked another stab down at her head, then slapped a fireball away. She kept dodging away from his attacks, then he tried to kick another fireball at her again. She kicked his leg and knocked the fireball away. He spun around and hook kicked at her head, but she back kicked his strike. He stumbled for a moment, then turned, and jumped at her again. He stabbed down at her head, but she grabbed his wrist, and held it in a harmless position.

"This is fun," She told him "Thanks for not being like the last fire guy."

"No proble- oh shit!" He jumped away from a fire blast to the face that she sent at him.
