Chapter 15

The King of Spades is here.

"Run." I hear Arisu say. "Hide them under cars.

"Got it." I say moving Chishiya carefully.

"Y/n, stay here just in case, if we aren't back by nightfall, I need you to go to the Queen of Hearts." Arisu says.

"Why should I wait?" I call after them.

"There should be more than one who faces her."

Then they were too far away to communicate with out leading the King of Spades to us.

So I am just here in case they take too long beating the King. That should be easy, hopefully.

"Well, you get to defeat a hearts game by yourself if they fail, no pressure. Oh, and then also the King, if they fail that too." Chishiya says shifting from behind the car to face the building.

"You sound so sure they won't be able to defeat him."

"Oh, they will, but if they don't... "

"Yeah yeah."

We sit and I apply more pressure to his wounds, I don't have any supplies to help him out, and Niragi looks to be too far gone.

He doesn't seem to mind though. He's looking off at the sky, maybe contemplating life or something.

"Hey, I forgot to ask." Chishiya says.

"What?"

"What's the name of that cafe?"

"Seriously? Right now?"

"Well, yes, who knows how long we have."

"It's called Tully's Cafe."

"Alright."

More silence filled the air as we wait. We can hear the gunshots, and I was sure I saw Kuina and Ann in the distance at one point.

I'm glad to see they're alive. Hopefully they all find each other and beat the King. Otherwise I'm screwed.

"Hey, if we get out of here, you have to make sure you promise to meet me at that cafe."

"You make it sound like I wasn't looking forward to it."

"Just promise."

"Fine, I promise I won't forget."

I see Arisu and Usagi limping over, not the others though, I thought they would've met up.

The sun is still high in the sky,

"Hey y/n, make sure they don't die." Arisu says as they walk right by.

I thought I would go too, but I guess those two got it from here.

"Hey, did you see the others?" I ask.

They still and Usagi looks back at me. "In an alleyway by ___ St."

"Okay." I get up. "Chishiya make sure we see each other again okay?"

"How many tim-" I cut him off with a a small kiss and run off.

When I reach the street, I look in the alleys. I haven't seen anyone yet.

"Ann, Kuina!" I yell, listening for any response.

"Y/n." I hear Kuina faintly yell back. And I run to her voice, she is a few alleys down behind a shop that was destroyed.

They're alive, but in critical condition.

"Guys." I sit down next to them and try to stop the bleeding. Their wounds are too bad, I just have to hope we make it to the real world soon and get them medical attention.

"Y/n, looks like you're in good shape." Ann quietly says, both of them have teary eyes and Ann is slowly closing hers.

"Hey, Ann, you gotta stay with us, just a little longer, come on."

"Y/n, stop." She says. "Just tell me we will be friends in the real world."

"Don't forget about me." Kuina adds and we all laugh a little.

"Fine, just promise me you will make it back to the real world."

"Alright, oh one more thing." Kuina adds.

"What?"

"Just ask Chishiya out already, before I kill him."

"Huh?"

"Yeah, it's been obvious." Ann sighs.

"What, hey, guys come on."

"Or maybe we could get him to ask." Kuina looks at Ann.

"I have some ideas." Ann adds, smiling at her friend.

"Guys, we ugh, it's complicated."

"Complicated my ass, just make up and make out." Kuina instructs.

"Okay okay, just let's leave that for later." I say.

"She didn't even try to deny it." Ann teases.

"Oh shut up!" I tell them.

We sit in silence and look at each other and laugh.

We have more conversations until nightfall.

Ann is slowly drifting and Kuina is following after her.

I have to sit and watch my friends die, Arisu, Usagi, please hurry.

That's when we could hear that voice.

"Congratulations to all players who have made it. As a gift you are provided with two choices. One you can stay and gain residency here. Or you can go home."

"Well, time to go." Kuina says. I can hear Ann faintly mutter the same.

"I do not accept residency here."
