Eda went the construction site on Monday with all she thought that she would need in her bag. Serkan made no comments and acted as her assistant for the entire four hours that they were there. She needed no help, Eda remembered everything that she needed to do and back at the office sat down to do the technical drawings. Serkan would be lying if he said he wasn't thrilled that Eda could do her job again. He would always be available when she wanted to consult him but they both knew that she could handle it.
Leyla had been putting in extra hours to make the daycare become a reality, there was only the matter of a teacher to be settled but she had an idea. Leyla knocked on the conference room door on Monday afternoon, "Serkan bey, Eda hanim, do you have a moment?"
Serkan sat back and invited Leyla in, "What can we do for you Leyla?"
"It's about the daycare and finding a teacher. I was wondering if we could hire my youngest sister for the position. She came to live with me so she can take night classes at the University. She loves children and wants to be a teacher so I thought that maybe it would work?"
Eda pursed her lips, "Is your sister as responsible as you are Leyla?"
Leyla nodded, "Oh yes, she's very responsible and conscientious. I wouldn't recommend her otherwise."
"Is this your sister Alara that you're talking about?" asked Serkan.
She was always amazed when Serkan bey remembered her family, "Yes Serkan bey."
"I think it's a fine idea, she can start any time, maybe watch Kiraz for us during the day while we're in the office until the daycare is done?" suggested Serkan.
"Oh, she would love that. She can start as soon as you need her," offered Leyla.
"Eda?"
Her mind had been wandering trying to imagine a second Leyla in the office until Serkan's voice called her back, "Oh, right now I'd like to do Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the office. I can work at home the other two days, I think the daycare should be open in a couple of weeks so it would just be short term. Leyla we can arrange a driver to pick her up and bring her home since we aren't on any of the transportation lines. Why don't the two of you come over tomorrow. Have her come to the office and show her around and then have the driver bring you out to the house for lunch. Alara can meet Kiraz okay?"
Leyla was so excited, "Thank you, yes, this will be wonderful!" she turned and practically skipped out of the office.
Eda turned back to Serkan who was just watching her, "What are you looking at?"
"You. Thinking of what I can do with my extra time now that you're back to working again. I have some ideas."
"Do I play a part in any of these ideas?" asked Eda as she rolled her chair closer to his.
"Mmhmm, you are the star of these ideas," he said winking at her. Eda just laughed, she knew what his ideas were and she was all for them.
Leyla's sister Alara was wonderful with Can and Kiraz. The daycare was a happy element for all of the ArtLife employees. They had gotten used to having Kiraz in the office dispensing her hugs and kisses when Serkan brought her to work. The employees liked the idea of being able to bring their children to the on-site daycare, it would definitely grow in the future.
Eda's memory didn't come back all at once it came back in pieces similar to how Serkan's came back. She learned to not become frustrated that it was a slower process and enjoy them as they returned.
