It was the beginning of summer. You had thought that you'd be spending it in the air conditioned lounge of Stark Tower, or at least be staying within the city limits training your powers.
But no, because Tony had surprised not only you, but everyone else as well. He said it was something meant to build up teamwork, but it just felt weird. Maybe it was because Peter was out of school? Or maybe Tony was getting tired of housing You and Loki? You had your suspicions, however it felt good to be able to go somewhere new. You were sitting in the lobby, having a duffle bag and two rather heavy backpacks to take with you. You'd never gone on an actual field trip where you'd be spending the night, much less a good month out away from home, so you were excited. But where you were going, Tony never specified, and no one else seemed to know or cared to say beforehand.
Feeling a kiss on the top of your head, you look up and smile to Loki as he sits next to you while dropping his own big suitcase by your stuff, his arm resting over your shoulder. "Hi, stranger." "Stranger? Well, darling, I must be quite the catch for you to welcome me so openly." You stick your tongue out at him, resting against him. "You're silly, you know." You look him over some, staring a bit as you could see the outline of his frame under his shirt. "Enjoying the view?" You look away quickly. "J-just worried.. the heat isn't bothering you, is it?" "Not at all, this Midgardian weather isn't getting to me." You relax, turning back to kiss his cheek before he's already beat you to it and is placing a kiss on your lips. Giggling you kiss back softly, relaxing and leaning your cheek into the palm of his hand. You both kept kissing for a second before the sound of feet running in your direction made you both look over. It's Peter, having two duffel bags and his own backpack. "Hi Mr. Loki, Ms. Y/N!" You wave softly. "Hi, Peter.. how much did you pack?" "Huh? Oh, Mr. Stark said that this trip would be around three weeks or something so I packed what I think I'd need for that long. Plus I have summer homework and projects." You let out a sigh of relief, gesturing for him to lay his stuff down with yours. "Okay, that's good. I thought I didn't pack enough." Setting the duffel bags down by yours, Peter looks around. "Has anyone else come by yet?" You shake your head. "It's just the three of us so far. Oh, nevermind. I see Steve and Bucky coming." Loki sighs as you say this, as you and Peter greet them both. "Hello Peter, Y/N, Loki." Steve greets you all in return, as Bucky only nods, and both of their gazes stay on Loki a bit longer out of suspicion.
Loki looks at them. "Keep staring and I'll turn you to stone." "Whoa, can you actually do that?" Peter asks excitedly, and Loki crosses his arms. "When I get angered enough." You shake your head and smile, looking around some. "I wonder who else we're waiting on.." You notice some of the people coming and going in the lounge are murmuring and staring at you all quizzically. Moreover, the women are giving you odd looks more than anything, and you turn your attention away from them. "Tony told us to be here on time, so where is he?" Steve asks, and Loki gently rubs your back to help you relax from the stares. "Maybe he's getting some last minute things done." You offer, before rubbing your chin a bit. "Do you guys know what he meant by this teamwork building?" Peter shrugged. "He said that it was important and not to miss it." You bite your lip some. "Okay, well, I'm going to rush to the bathroom if he's not going to be here yet. I don't want to have to use the bathroom on the way." "That's a good idea, I'mma go too." You smile to Loki and kiss his cheek softly. "Don't turn anyone into stone, okay?" You and Peter both head to the bathroom area, and you disappear into the women's bathroom.
After you get finish you wash your hands thoroughly, wondering just where the destination really was, and don't look over as the door is opened. Hearing high heels clacking on the floor, you finish up and go to dry your hands off. "Hi, Y/N." You almost cringe as you hear your name getting called by a voice you know too well. "Hi, Patty... Susie." You mumble as you look up to see both of them. They both have their work suits on, and it smells like they just finished their smoke breaks as Susie is shaking around coffee in a togo cup. "Didn't think we'd see you here again, and with so many guys. What is it you're doing exactly?" You struggle with trying to figure out what your next move should be, so you decide that you don't need to answer them. But they also make a decision, and block you from leaving. "... Excuse me, I need to get going." "Just tell us, are you an escort for superheroes now? You know, a personal little maid or something?" You watch their stances, and it's obvious they're in aggression mode. "Sure. Making no money but living the high life because I can be so close to them, right? What is it that you two are bothering me for?" Patty huffs, clacking her nails against the sink counter. "You're the one with such a high and mighty attitude all of a sudden. We used to be friends--" "We have never, been friends. You both just decided that you wanted to bully me to embarrass me, but Id appreciate it if you both acted your ages." They both stare at you before they bust out laughing. "Wow, did you just get angry, Y/N? We're just simply worried about you. But you know, that bitchiness you're showing us needs to be taken down a peg."
You don't react fast enough to shield your face away from the piping hot coffee Susie throws at you, and you can only back away. "See, we're mature! You deserve a lot worse than my morning Joe, but we're keeping it fair.-" You don't see who comes in as you're trying to wipe your face clean with your shirt, but you hear him. "Tell me now, why I shouldn't spill your entrails all over this floor." "Loki!" Steve's voice of concern is low but stern, and you slightly hiss as you feel cold hands touch your cheeks. "Y/N.." You want to open your eyes as Loki's worried tone is in your ears, but your face is hurting, and you rest your hands on his wrists. "I'm fine, I just.. I need to rinse my face off..."
You can slightly hear Steve escorting your bullies out to have them dealt with, and Peter's rushed steps are definitely recognizable. "Oh God, these are almost second degree. I can go get a first aid kit and burn cream-!" "Peter, it's fine. Don't stay in the women's bathroom though, okay? Guard the door for a second, if anything.." You tell him, and smile reassuringly despite your pain. "O-Okay.." You hear his steps hesitantly leave, and once the door closes you lean heavily into Loki's hands. "Y-Your hands feel really good right now." "I'm going to heal you, and then I'm slitting their throats." "No.. As much as I want to agree, we're trying to keep you out of trouble." You rub his arms softly. Sighing slowly, Loki rests his lips on the top of your head. "Hold still.."
You feel the pain in your face fading away, before you carefully open your eyes. Loki's face comes into view, and you lean into his touch. "Thank you." "Y/N, these people who openly attack you..." You shake your head. "They'll always be around. Even before I got a job here, people usually bullied me on a day to day basis. The most I can do is try to avoid them or deal with them the right way. Or just go home and heal, usually. But you're here now, so I'm grateful." You  smile to him softly. "Thank you for protecting me." Loki rubbed your cheek softly. "I didn't protect you fast enough.. Perhaps this trip will be a good thing to go along with, after all. Here." His hands move down to take your coffee soaked shirt off, and you raise your arms up for him.
Once you're undressed, Loki has a new shirt already in his hands. After putting it on, you find yourself in his arms. Relaxing, you bury your face into his chest and wrap your arms around him, taking in his scent. "Let's go, Stark should be here by now." You nod as Loki says this, and follow him out of the bathroom. He keeps his arm around you as Peter is quick to come back. "Ms. Y/N are you okay?" "Yes, I'm fine Peter, thank you." You smile to him, gesturing to yourself. "No burns or coffee stains." Peter restrains his excitement to ask Loki about his magic, and follows you two back into the lobby.
You glanced over as security has put your two bullies in handcuffs, before Loki gently squeezes you closer to him so that you don't waste your time on looking at them.
Your attention is grabbed as Tony is now waiting on you three, sunglasses on and a frown on his face. "The first day of summer and I'm already firing two employees. You didn't start the confrontation did you, Y/N?" You sigh and shake your head. "No. Their reason for bullying me in the bathroom is apparently because I'm the 'escort' of the group, and then I got piping hot coffee thrown on me for not wanting to validate nor argue with them. But I don't have to worry about missing out on this trip to recover thanks to Loki, so I'd love it if you, none of you, think or talk bad about him for a good while. Can we agree on that?" Rolling his eyes behind his sunglasses, Tony shrugs. "Fine fine, we'll be nice but no nagging. So come on, the faster we get out of here the better."
Before anyone starts moving, Thor suddenly drops down from the sky near you all, and you think it's cute that he has his own giant backpack over his shoulder. "Point Break's here, now we don't have to wait." "Hi Mr. Thor!" "Hello Boy of Spiders!"
Loki kisses your cheek softly and grabs your duffel bag for you along with his fancy suitcase, letting you carry your backpacks after after a small argument. As you all step outside, you're met with the sight of a big bus with tinted windows. "Don't get all nostalgic with stories about training camps for war when we get on, okay?" Stark addresses this to Steve and Bucky, and steps into the bus first. Being gentlemen, they let you get on first, but you get stopped by Stark. "Ah, you and Reindeer Games aren't sitting together." "Why not...?" You ask slowly, Tony crossing his arms. "Assigned seats. You and Parker are sitting up front. Babies up front, old guys in the middle, and drama queens in the back." "And what about you?" "I can sit wherever I want, since I own the bus."
After many complaints, you all were sitting in designated spots on the bus.
You and Peter in the second row on the left. Tony and Happy on the right. (Happy was already waiting on the bus, comfortable with a neck pillow).
Bucky and Steve in the sixth row, on the right side.
Thor and Loki in the very back on the right. (Loki was not happy at all but you and him both had the window seats, so he was fine from being able to see you, and Thor was just fine.
