"Can you please just tell me how much I owe you?" "No. And you aren't asking for Vision either." "Then an estimated guess?" "No." "If I guess, will you say yes or no?" "No, Y/N." "Please?" "I don't need you to pay me back." "..... Is it in the upper levels like 20 grand?" "Stop it." ".... 10 grand?" "No!" "I know I've made you spend at least around 5 grand as a minimum." "For the love of God, Y/N." "... Can you just take the 5--" "No, now get going!"
You pout, feeling guilty for however much you knew you owed Tony for the months of staying with him in the tower. Food, water, electricity, and other things. You didn't like freeloading, but he was so stubborn about you not paying him back!
Humming lowly to yourself, you were sitting on top of the roof alone. There had been a sudden emergency mission that everyone had been pulled into. Everyone except you. In a way, you were grateful to have some alone time to think thoroughly on things. You knew that everyone was worried about your well being after hearing about what had happened, but you were keeping strong. With more training and whatnot, you were building yourself back up, but you hadn't been sleeping well, not without Loki's help.
Breathing slowly, you looked up to the slightly dark clouds filling the sky. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, you thought about everyone else. "Good vibes, good vibes... Positive vibes." You mumble, closing your eyes as you stretched your hand out. Everyone would be okay today, everyone would be okay on the mission. You open your eyes back up as you feel something land on your finger, and smile softly as it's a beautiful blue jay. It's watching you intently and fluttering its wings, before it flies off again. That was a good sign. You hadn't been bombarded with a mass, so it meant your control had gotten better. "You know what? Everyone will enjoy a nice meal when they get back, especially after a dangerous mission." You say to yourself, and stand up.
Heading back inside, you go to your room to grab your phone and wallet. But instead of taking your normal route, you decide to use Darkness to portal your way to a grocery store. Being careful, you make sure that you're actually much closer to the ground before you step through, and awkwardly wave to a small child who just happened to see you coming through out of thin air. Humming to yourself, you get things to make chicken spaghetti with an autumn salad, a couple of different drinks, garlic bread, and for dessert, a homemade strawberry and cream angel food cake.
As you're heading up to the front, you hear a commotion. Arguing, and shouting. You peek around the corner to see if it's a disgruntled customer, and in a way it is. Just one with a big gun, shouting at the cashier who's quickly emptying the register in fear of being hurt. The rest of the customers are cowering on the ground, and you notice that the little kid from earlier is among them.Frowning, you don't move from your spot, but you do something you've never done before. Intervene.
Darkness pooled around your fingers slowly before the liquid smoke moved along the floor in snake like strands. The robber is too distracted with his task to see this, until the smoke is billowing in front of him. In a panic he shoots at it, causing the others to scream, but the bullets have gone nowhere. At least not anywhere to cause harm. More smoke has cooled around him, around his face, and he seems to be lost in a trance a moment later as his eyes have glossed over pitch black. In your mind, you're telling him to calm down, to get on his knees and apologize.
As he does this, the billowing smoke engulfs the gun in his hold next, before it and the bullets are being put far from his grip. You keep him in a trance until local cops are coming into the store just a few minutes later to arrest him, having been alerted by outsiders about the incident. The black smoke seeps back into you carefully as people watch in shock, and the guy is apprehended with no more than a scared startle and lots of protest. You watch as the little kid hugs the cashier tightly right afterwards, and it's easy to tell that the cashier is his mother who was about to finish her shift. He points to you quickly, and you hesitate as the mother rushes over to you. "Thank you, thank God for you!" You don't know how to respond as she tells you this, and you can only nod. "A-Are you okay?" "Yes, thanks to you. I thought I was-- Thank you so much!" You can only nod again, and hesitate. "I'm glad you're both, all okay.. U-Um, if you don't mind c... Can I pay for my groceries?"
