It had been well over an hour after you and Loki had begun to catch up on everything.

From the beginning, right after you had set off to the useless battle, all the way to your current situations.

You had learned of Frigga's death, of Odin's. Everything beforehand, between, and after. Hela, who was the freshest complication and problem. It was unbelievable...

Knowing Loki had gone to Midgard with an army, and failed in his quest to actually take over due to Earth's Mightiest Heroes taking a stand against him despite their own worldly problems, it was something that you knew he regretted.

Finding out that he had to rot in a cell for a few months, and blaming himself for Frigga's death even though he intentionally had no part in it, it hurt you to see him holding in that guilt, that pain.

You almost wanted to laugh when he told you about how he had sent Odin to an old person's home on that same planet, and you had only wished that you could have seen him actually taking over the throne in place of Odin.

But knowing he had also been hurt so badly, that finding out about his birthright so brash from Odin and basically being told he wasn't worth anything, it made you angry. But you would have to let it go. Soon enough, at least. Odin was dead already, so there was no point in holding onto that rage for long.

He had listened to your side of things as well.

How you had basically been tossed like literal trash into a trash portal from the realm you were on, and had been found by scavengers who brought you to The Grandmaster.

How for a while you stayed as the top contender until you finally took up The Grandmaster's offer on becoming his adoptive daughter because you were much too cute for him to continue allowing you to fight.

How you traded those awful birthday gifts in exchange for scavenged books that were still in good condition.

How you came across this place during an episode from your injury, and was tended to by Merida. She had tried to stitch up your wound, but it had somehow just gotten worse and you gave up on trying to properly fix it.

You skipped over one of the main issues you had dealt with, as you couldn't bring yourself to talk about it.

You sat in silence with Loki for a moment, and at some point the both of you were holding hands, rubbing your thumbs over each other's knuckles softly. You had both been through so much, but you felt that Loki was the one who suffered more.

"Do you remember, sneaking around with me after we had borrowed some of Mother's books on magic?" Loki asked, and you smiled lightly. "I remember how freaked out I was feeling from thinking about being caught, but the thrill was worth it." You say, chuckling. Smiling, Loki squeezed your hand softly. "That was the first time I remember you laughing so openly with me."

Lifting your gaze to his, your cheeks redden softly. "You were so enthralled by how easy I could read the magic, and use it right after. You ended up sneaking those books out for me before I would even wake up. Laying on my bed with me, waiting patiently and smiling so happily at me when I opened my eyes." You turn your gaze away in embarrassment. "I... I loved the way you would read them. I felt a bit bad from even having you do that right after you awoke." "But you always made it up to me by making the tea just how I liked it, or reading other books of interest to me when we had time alone. Especially in the garden." Your cheeks reddened worse at the memories, but you're unable to hide your smile.

"That was when you confessed to me for the first time, remember?"

You blink quickly, and try to recall for a second before it comes back instantly. "B-by the fountain... When I... I said I loved you and I'd make you my husband when I was older..." You whispered, making a cringed expression from how awkward that must have been back then. "Oh, Gods." You cover your face in utter embarrassment. "I had said it so confidently..! L-Loki, I apologize, I could have ruined our friendship back then!" "Oh, it's quite alright, I would have just simply made you wait for my hand in marriage."
