Taking it easy

It felt like you were stuck in limbo, with someone messing with the thermostat.

Hot, then cold, then overly hot, then frigid cold.

You didn't know what was going on with yourself. You couldn't even remember what had happened. You just know that you were hurting all over, in and out.

Your hands were numb, and your eyes were being forced to stay closed. There was also the intolerable feeling in your stomach, like something was sitting on it heavily.

And it was unbearably silent each time you tried to figure out what was going on. It felt like years before you could actually hear Loki in your head again, and you were so happy. All you could do was wait for Loki to say something. When he didn't, your nerves became a bit anxious. At least until you were trying to move your hands to take off whatever was keeping your eyes shut. "Stop it." Loki.
You tug your arms a bit towards you, and you feel his hands gently enclose around your wrists.
Opening your mouth to talk, you end up with a silent grimace instead as your throat burns sorely. "Your body needs all the rest it can get, and magic only goes so far in terms of healing, Y/N." You turn your head towards where his voice comes from, and you feel his touch leave your wrists, but not where they go as you can't control them from staying in the air. "You still don't have feelings in your hands yet.."

He places a kiss on your forehead, and you wish it could last longer as you can't seem to do anything else. You wanted to know what had gone on, how long you were out for, but as a cold sensation went through your arm and then through the rest of your body, you began to feel sleepy all over again. That's when you figured out that it was an IV, timed to give you medication, but for what? "Rest, Y/N."

Unwillingly, you drift back into nothingness.

The next time you wake up you feel groggy and like you're on fire, but there's a familiar presence in your mind.

Loki's humming mentally to you, soft and melodic, and you listen closely. You don't know what the song is, but you're soothed instantly by it anyway.

A cool sensation gently presses up against you and envelopes you, and only then are you able to decipher that Loki's laying next to you, helping you cool down as he's still humming softly. You can feel pain when your body trembles, but it's not from the cold feeling. It's from how hot you've become. Medicine is going through your system again, and Loki's humming fades into the background as you're taken back into the arms of slumber.

--Loki's POV

He had to watch you go through it again. Your expression of pain and confusion to having your body shake without your control hurt him. As the clear blue liquid from the IV travelled through the tube and into your arm, you shiver and are forced back into sleep. The detoxing your body was using on itself to get rid of the foreign touch harming you, was also hurting you without your own knowledge.

You were burning up so badly even when in his arms, before the seizures began again. Bruce and Vision had told him that there was nothing to be done but to let the medicine course through your veins, as your body reacted to and rejected the poisoned magic residing in your blood. Even they seemed highly unsure of how long your recovery would take, they were at least respectful enough to give you both privacy.
Loki hummed softly to you, as the smallest relief he could feel was knowing that you were able to hear him again in your thoughts. It had been Hell for him to not have any response come from you, and to know that you had temporarily lost the feelings in your hands nearly had him using his own magic. Bruce has reprimanded Loki on that, saying you'd more than likely be worse off having another source of magic riddle your weakened state. He laid there with you, doing his very best to keep you from hurting yourself unintentionally. The seizure you were having calmed down, and eventually your body went back down to a regulated temperature.
