Enid's phone blared from her nightstand. Groggily she reached for it without looking wanting to keep her eyes shut for just a bit longer. It took her a few attempts to find her phone but she managed to turn it off without moving her head from the soft pillow. She stretched her legs out in the bed kicking the covers off herself in the process. Sitting up in the bed the only light came from the window and the crack of the bathroom door. Switching on her bedside lamp she rubbed the slip from her eyes as Wednesday appeared standing in the doorframe to the now open bathroom. She took in the sight of Wednesday already prepared for the day ahead letting out a deep breath as her cheeks began to rise in temperature.

How did I not notice sooner?

"Good morning." Enid muttered her voice still raspy.

"Morning to you too, though I don't suppose it will be a good one thanks to having to endure the presence of our schoolmates. Then again being here with you constitutes it as having been off to a good start, but we'll see how long it takes Yoko to ruin that."

Enid let out a chuckle when Wednesday mentioned the vampire by name. She wasn't sure if Wednesday only put up a front of disliking the vampire or if she truly despised her, but deep down she hoped it was only a façade. She wanted everyone to be at the very least friendly with each other. Enid knew she would try her best to befriend Wednesday's friend Eugene. She thought he was weird and had a few odd interests, but she had thought the same about Wednesday before she got to know her. Besides she couldn't expect her friends to befriend Wednesday and her friends if she didn't do the same. Enid stood from the bed to begin preparing for the day ahead. They still had nine weeks left of this semester and to make things worse they were only being given one week of vacation between the two school years.

The school day went by agonizingly slowly, but Enid was just happy to be back in Wednesday's presence. The only issue with it was her focus, she already struggled to focus in class often daydreaming about random stories she made up, or thinking about different tv shows and movies that she enjoyed instead, by far her favorite though was thinking of new outfits and makeup and all the combinations she could make from them instead of paying attention. Enid wasn't a bad student at least in most of her classes but she wasn't the greatest either normally making B's and C's with the occasional A or D thrown in if she did exceptionally well or had spaced out for too long. Today it seemed Wednesday was the cause of her inability to focus as she kept imagining the girl in various different outfits. Now that she was back in her room her eyes couldn't help but wander all over the subject of her thoughts.

Wednesday was busy keying away on her typewriter, having finished her own studies forty-five minutes ago. It was getting close to dinner time, and Enid desperately wanted to be done with her homework before dinner so she would have time to unwind and not study until it was time to sleep and start the process over again tomorrow, not having time for herself until the weekend. The only problem was Enid was bad at English like really bad at English, in her English classes Enid normally got C's and D's and struggled immensely to get B's instead she was more likely to get F's. Tonight's homework was interpreting a short story which she thought should be easy, but it seemed like her teachers always seemed to want a very specific interpretation.

"Ugh!" Enid voiced her frustrations, as a low growl filled the air.

She was so focused on the text that she discarded the noise of the chair scrapping across the wooden floor and the sound of someone approaching. She almost jumped out of her own chair when a hand was placed on her shoulder, and she felt the warm air of Wednesday's breath on her ear.
