When Wednesday woke up it was clear to her that she had missed her morning classes. The time on her clock read 2:42, she had slept for far longer than she had planned. She rushed to the bathroom to prepare herself into a presentable state before she would have to meet Lurch and her family out by the front gate. Stuck onto the bathroom mirror was a small pink sticky note telling her to eat something before she set off for the day. The words had been written in an obnoxious myriad of colors leaving only one person who could have been the culprit of such a heinous abomination against all things living and dead. Yet as she stared at the words not really taking them in only staring at them Wednesday couldn't help the smile that spread across her lips.
She hadn't realized that she was smiling until her eyes wandered up from the note and to the mirror above the counter. Much to her horror the smile on her face reminded her of the smiles her parents often wore when partaking in their endless waterfall of affection for one another. Wednesday stepped a few paces back until her back collided with the wall and she could move no further. Her heart was beating ferociously against her chest. She didn't know why, couldn't even begin to understand how something as simple as a little note was having such an enormous effect on her.
In a desperate attempt to wake herself from her delirious state, she splashed cold water onto her face reveling in the shock it gave her. She was soothed when the feeling began to subside and the control she normally had over her body returned to her. She hated the fact that she had lost control of herself as it was something that had never happened in her sixteen years of life. Running out of time to suitably prepare herself for the day, she skipped a few steps of her routine and rushed an even larger amount. Though the average student or teacher wouldn't notice a difference she knew that her parents would certainly be able to tell that she had rushed to get ready.
She began running through the halls still tying her hair into her signature braids in an attempt to save time. She could deal with the idea of being seen in a less-than-perfect state even if it still made her shudder. She couldn't bare the idea of being late as it was well known that an Addams was always on time, and she wasn't going to be the first to break that tradition.
The Addams family car came into her view with not a moment to spare as the clock on her phone hit three exactly. Despite her reluctance to own such a soul-sucking handheld device, she had to admit that it proved to be useful, even if she still disliked using the device. Pocketing her phone she strolled closer towards her family. The car doors were flung open and her father made a mad dash towards her like a crazed lunatic running towards his helpless victim. Her feet dangled off the ground as she was unceremoniously lifted into the air by her father's arms. She could feel the sickening stares of the other students baring into her flesh.
"Unhand me at once father, before you lose a hand." Wednesday viciously spat.
Her father remained jolly as he returned her to the comfort of the ground. Her mother strolled forward lightly brushing her right hand against her left braid. Morticia gave her a wide smile that made Wednesday's skin crawl. She hated how overly affectionate her parents were to her, maybe even more than she hated their constant flaunting of their affection for each other. Would that be the fate that awaited her should she be overtaken by the curse that seemed to loom over her?
"My little storm cloud we have what you asked us to bring, along with what grandmama said would be most useful in aiding you in the process of creating the potion for your little gift. Not only that but we got your wolf a card for her birthday, seeing as she's mmph-"
Her mother had come up behind her father and placed her hand over his mouth preventing him from finishing his thought.
"What your father means is that we got her a card as a token of our appreciation for being your friend."
