Old Money - Rafe Cameron

Chapter 4

Audrey woke up and stared at the ceiling of the guest bedroom in the Cameron house. Confused, she sat up and realized she was laying on top of the comforter, with her socks on, and phone unplugged on the nightstand next to her glass of water and candy, which was very unusual.

She looked out the window and saw all of the workers fixing hurricane damages and she remembered everything that happened last night. Or was that a dream? Did she talk to Rafe Cameron?

She rubbed the back of her neck and thought as she stared at her candy and water on the nightstand. No, definitely not a dream.

Audrey spent the rest of the day with Sarah, helping people around the island, bringing food and other necessities to families on the cut. Ward provided them a large sum of money to be able to do that, so of course they took advantage of it.

By the time the evening rolled around, there was supposedly a beach party happening, so Sarah and Audrey put on some dresses and got themselves ready. Sarah told Topper to bring a friend for Audrey, but apparently it was a surprise as to who it was.

By the time Topper pulled up, Audrey and Sarah were ready to go, and when they stepped outside, Audrey yelled, "Kelce? You brought me Kelce?"

"Hey, I'm a nice fellow." Kelce said in retaliation, shaking his collar and Audrey groaned, rubbing her forehead.

"I didn't only bring Kelce." Topper gestured to the passenger seat of his car. Sarah and Audrey were standing at the doorway of Sarah's house as Topper escorted them to his car with Kelce, and in the passenger seat of his car was Rafe.

"Rafe? Seriously?" Audrey replied as she climbed into the back of the car. "I meant bring a friend that could pass as my rebound. I don't think anyone would think I would ever get with Rafe Cameron."

"Why would you be getting with me?" Rafe said, not looking up from his phone. His hat sat backwards on his head, and his sunglasses were being crushed in his fist as he scrolled.

"She asked me to bring a friend to this so JJ would get jealous so I brought you both." Topper explained.

"Wait, Audrey is the girl you told me about?" Rafe shut off his phone and huffed. "Nope. Absolutely fucking not."

"Excuse me?" Audrey reacted.

"Oh come on, Audrey." He explained. "It's weird."

"Only weird if you make it weird." Sarah said as she stared out the window at the passing houses.

"Okay, so Rafe's out, but Kelce?" Topper looked at Audrey through the rearview mirror. "Come on, I mean look at him.

"You're very handsome Kelce." Audrey assured. "But I don't look at you as anything but my friend's boyfriend's friend." And Kelce reacted with an "ouch"

"That's fair, though. I don't want to get with you either." Kelce said, watching the houses pass as they drove through figure eight.

The beach was pretty crowded when they got there. Pogues, Kooks, and vacationers were crowding it, including Pope, John B, and of course, Kiara and JJ.

The Pogues and the Kooks stayed in their separate groups, though the group of Kooks was much smaller.

Rafe went to retrieve some drinks and when he came back, everyone but Topper agreed to one, Kelce and Rafe finishing theirs in a matter of seconds, then leaving to go god knows where.

Sarah began to climb the lifeguard chair, pointing at something in the ocean as Topper tried to stop her, yelling "What are you doing?" at her.

"Come down, babe." Topper laughed and grabbed her hand to try and pull her down, and their laughing caught the attention of the Pogues.
