After an hour or so, Audrey had been talking with Kelce at the couch, and told him everything except what happened with Josh.

Rafe was in the kitchen, talking with Topper and Audrey's parents for a little while.

"So, what? Are you getting back together with him?" Kelce shrugged.

"I don't know." She said honestly. "Is it pathetic if I do?"

"It broke my heart a little to see you apart. You two were my endgame. You made so much sense."

"Why do you want this more than I do?" She smiled and adjusted so she was sitting sideways on the couch and facing him.

Kelce shrugged with a small smile. "I was the first of our friends to find out about you two." He reminisced. "I knew he loved you the moment I stepped up and saw him staring at you on the Druthers. I can read him like a book."

Audrey smiled a little as she remembered her birthday.

"And I know no matter how awful what he did was, he still feels the exact same for you, but stronger." He shook his head. "I've been consistently rooting for you two for like eight months." He said with some frustration. "For my sake, I can't watch you two have any ending but a happy one."

"For you, I'll talk to him." She teased and her attention was grabbed by the man himself.

"Perfect, I was just leaving." Kelce said to Rafe as he stood up. "You can take my spot."

Rafe gave a flat smile and raised his eyebrows at Audrey as he sat down beside her.

His head leaned against the back of the couch and he rubbed his face with frustration.

"You okay?" She asked genuinely.

He nodded with a gentle smile, his hair falling into his face as he looked over at her.

"Okay." She leaned over to brush his hair out of his eyes. "Can we talk?"

His face dropped a little. "About?"

"Us."

He gained a hopeful look and nodded softly. He opened his mouth to respond, when he was interrupted.

"It's for you." Audrey's young cousin held out a plastic toy phone.

Audrey smiled and covered her mouth with her hand, watching the little girl try to get Rafe to play with her.

Rafe sat up straighter and examined the kid and the fake phone. "For me?" He clarified and took the phone from her hand, hoisting her up so she could sit on one of his legs. "Hello?" He spoke on the phone.

Audrey laughed quietly, watching her cousin's death glare at her as she hugged Rafe.

"I like this one better than your last boyfriend." Audrey's cousin said to her.

"You do?" Rafe smiled.

"He's not my boyfriend." Audrey shook her head.

"Why do you like me better?" Rafe asked.

"JJ never played with me." She explained. Rafe handed the little girl back the phone and she pouted. "I want ice cream."

Rafe gave a fake-nervous look and replied, "I'm not allowed to give you ice cream, but if you wait here, I'll get you a cookie."

She giggled as he set her down on the couch and gave Audrey a smile as he made his way back to the kitchen.

She pressed her hand over her heart, watching her ex boyfriend coming back in with a cookie.
