Two more weeks passed. Audrey hadn't heard from Rafe. She couldn't decide if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

She did deeply miss him. A part of her wondered if she was overreacting and if she should be blaming the drug and not him.

She also hasn't talked to Kelce, Topper, or Sarah in those two weeks. Everything was all messed up again—just like things were when she and JJ broke up.

This blew.

Audrey had put on a nice dress and when Kelce came, his golf shirt was matching.

"Nope." Kelce shook his head as she got in the car. "Go change."

"You change." She fought and fastened her seatbelt.

He groaned and pulled out of her driveway. "We look like we're dating. And I'm trying to impress Sofia."

"She doesn't work Wednesdays." Audrey explained.

"Then why the fuck are we going?" He said sarcastically.

"I want a drink." She stared out the window at passing houses in the darkness.

They quickly pulled into the club and hopped out, Kelce dialed Topper to see if he wanted to come, but it only went to voicemail.

They climbed the stairs up to the deck and saw Rafe leaning against the counter, talking with Topper, who just looked stressed.

Audrey couldn't deny that Rafe looked different—better. He looked clean, like he'd just showered. And he was back to wearing nice collared shirts and his hair clean. He looked how he did when they were together, like the same boy she fell in love with.

Apparently Audrey's jaw was open because Kelce leaned over and pushed it so her mouth closed, just in time for Rafe to look over.

He waved casually and went right back into his conversation with Topper, passing him the drink Jorge had just made.

Kelce took her elbow and pulled her to the other end of the bar, where an older bartender was working. Kelce grabbed a table and told her what he wanted and to order for him.

She leaned her elbows on the counter and waited and waited, but the bartender was busy. Jorge eventually came over and asked for her order.

"A dirty Shirley and Negroni please." She said and played with her fingernails as she waited. She felt eyes on her.

She looked over and Rafe looked away, he was also leaning his elbows on the counter, playing with his empty bourbon glass.

"Here you are." Jorge placed the drinks in front of her which brought her back to reality.

She gave a flat smile and picked them up, ignoring Rafe's stare as she walked them to Kelce.

Audrey and Kelce sat quietly as they drank their drinks. Audrey's gaze kept switching between Rafe and Topper. Topper was at a separate table—Audrey figured he was embarrassed by everything with Sarah—and Rafe was waiting at the bar.
