Audrey broke away from her kiss with Rafe. "I still haven't decided anything."
"That's okay." He corrected her.
Rafe smiled a little at her and went to kiss her again, but she held out her hand to stop him.
"We need to talk." She shook her head. "Before this happens again."
"Okay." He held out his hands in surrender.
She hid her smile. "I just... I don't want to be pathetic and keep giving in to anything before we talk."
"Why would you be pathetic?" He asked, stepping close to her.
"Because..." she hesitated and felt herself growing sad as she looked around his room. Too many memories were made there. "Because I cared about you more than anyone else and you just had sex with her like it was the easiest decision in the world."
He nodded and waited, barely giving a reaction.
"And it hurts because I loved you so bad, and I still... but I hate you!" She said frantically, shoving him backwards by his chest.
He pursed his lips, running a tongue along his cheek with some annoyance.
"I hate what you did and how things ended. I hate that I can't even blame you and I have to blame the stupid drugs instead—"
"Audrey, I'm not saying I'm never doing it again." He shook his head. "But for right now," he raised his eyebrows, "in this moment," he insisted, "we don't have to worry." He shook his head. "Why can't this just be about right now?"
"Because I don't want to go down a path that will just end up being a dead end." She shrugged sadly.
"I get that." He said painfully and walked closer to her, but this time she didn't back up, bringing his hands to the sides of her face. "But this is inevitable, Audrey. Us doing this." His hands went all down the sides of her body until they reached her waist and wrapped around her back. "We can't escape it. You create my urges and you need to be the one to satisfy them."
His lips connected with hers with strength and purpose. His hands slid into her hair and wrapped around the back of her head. He kissed her like he'd never kiss her again.
She wasn't sure where her body was. Her hands may have been on him, or right down at her sides. Was she kissing him back, or just letting him kiss her?
The only thing she was aware of was his lips.
She could feel it.
She could feel it in the way he hugged her. She could hear it in the way he pleaded for her.
So she chose to trust him.
"I'm scared that if we keep doing this, I won't be able to stop." She whispered. "I'm scared I won't feel for anyone else what I feel for you."
"I'm scared you will."
His mouth connected with hers again, and this time she was very aware of every part of her.
She pulled him as close as she possibly could, feeling every part of him.
It was a completely different kind of kiss than the one they were just sharing. He was so passionate, but so gentle.
No one has ever made her feel this much. Not JJ. Not Josh. Not anyone. Only Rafe. Only ever Rafe.
"I never felt this with him." She mumbled in his mouth, which made him pull away and press his forehead against hers. "With Josh."
His hands lowered and they gripped her thighs, lifting her onto his bed, where he gently slid on top of her.
"So, then he doesn't deserve you." He explained, holding her gently. "I do."
