Dawn

Today was a normal day, no mission. I was wearing my uniform though, I didn't want people to know I was outside. Me, daughter of a family that failed in saving the town when the templars attacked.

It was a shame,  my parents died trying to save the people and now our family name is a curse. My curse, being the second family member who survived the attack. I cried for days living on the street, no one wanted to help me. That's life and it made me stronger, now I will finish what my parents once started.

The weather was great today, sunny but there was a little bit of wind. The wind was what made it great, when on the rooftops in the burning sun feeling that little bit of cold on your face.

Eyeing upwards to the roofs I spotted a guard. Once we take this part of town over I will be able to freerun more. Today I didn't feel like getting in trouble, just wanted to help where I could.

My first goal was to hit the thieves, see if they had a new stealth skill for me to learn.

"Hey! What do you kids think you are doing here?!" A male voice said.

I turned to the sound and saw a guard at the start of a small ally way.

Kids?

Without thinking I started to climb the building that was next to the ally. First see if there really were kids in danger, then I'll see what's next.

Gripping the edge of the room I heard footsteps running under me. I shook it of and pulled myself only to come face to face with a guard.

"You don't belong up here!" He yelled pulling out his sword.

I was lucky to dodge his first swing since I was confused. I didn't hear his footsteps on the roof? Impossible! I was famous for my hearing skills! What could have distracted me?

I was brought back to reality by a sharp pain in my shoulder. I let out a groan of pain before glaring up to the guard. His sword was able to cut through my shoulder armor, not all the way but it hit my arm. Hard.

Out of pure anger I brought my other hand up putting the hidden blade inside his neck. I turned my hand pushing the blade further in as he let go of his sword. I pulled back my blade in one quick move making him drop and I pulled the sword out of my shoulder.

"Leave them alone!" A female voice yelled.

That didn't sound like a kid, more a young adult. What in the world was going on down there?

I walked over to the edge like I completely forgot my pain. Then I saw what was going on. For some reason my eyes only were able to look at one person making the rest look like a blur.

A girl with light brown hair a bit longer then shoulder length. She was struggling as the guard was holding onto her arm. The girl looked pissed, but also beaten. Her clothes screamed princess, but her eyes yelled rebel.

"Well look at you, a fighter I see." The guard said in a tone I did not like one bit.

In the corner I spotted two small children. They didn't look like they and the girl were family, still she was trying to help them. Stand up against the guard, something that could lead to her death...

Before I knew it, I was on top of the guard digging my sword in his back. Whatever happened there, I didn't think before I acted. Next to me I heard a small thank you, but before I could react more guards showed up.

"You will pay for that!" A guard said before charging at us in full speed.

I quickly used my hidden blade to stop his sword and kicked him away with my boot. With a quick pull I pulled my sword out of the dead guard ready to fight.

This time I charged at the guard. Except before I was gonna reach him I jumped to the the side so I could push myself away from the wall. Doing that I gave myself more speed and in one slice, his neck was open.

Grabbing onto his neck he fell on his knees. I pressed his face in the sand making it mix with the blood by pressing my boot against the back of his head. Looking up I saw a guard got close to me without me noticing, again. He was about to swing his sword, but was stopped by a hit on the head.

I looked next to me to see the girl holding a sword. It was the sword from the guard that I jump killed. She only hit him hard with it, seemed like she didn't know how to swing properly with it. Still that saved me from a terrible wound.

I didn't had time to thank her as the last guard came at both of us. I stopped the swinging sword with my wrist protection that held my hidden blade. The man had more strength then I thought and was able to push me all the way through my knee.

He lifted his sword back ready for his next swing downwards on me. I quickly tackled him kicking his leg with my foot, making him fall backwards. He dropped his sword as he let out a small groan. Quickly getting up I brought my hidden blade into his chest getting my hand covered in even more blood.

That was the last one. I turned back to see the girl was looking down with a pale face at the guard she knocked out. "Thanks...you saved me back there." I said making her look up again.

She had crystal blue eyes, no tears just a little bit of shock was visible in them. "Thanks for saving me..." She said trying to make eye contact. My hood was obviously in the way, but I couldn't risk to take it off.

I looked behind her spotting the kids that finally had the courage to stand up again. I passed the girl walking my way over to them and knelt down so I was on their height.

It didn't seem like they got hurt, but you never knew for sure."You kids okay?" I asked. They both shook their head no and then looked behind me. I turned around to see the girl was actually hurt instead.

The little girl of the kids duo walked over to her tucking onto her sleeve. "Sorry you got hurt." She said with a small voice.

There was a bit of blood dripping of her left hand, probably from using the sword. I could tell she wasn't used to fighting, but still....

She did stand up against the guards.
