"Watch out!" Before I could react there was a sword right in front of me pairing with the two men attacking me. I quickly took a step back while Dawn dodged one of the poor swings, she used the opportunity to dig her hidden-blade in his knee. I had quickly pulled out my loaded crossbow taking a shot at the other guard.
Dawn and I quickly exchanged looks before turning our attention back to the rest of the guards. Hagan and Christina were fighting on the roofs taking out the crossbows so we could move towards the tower. Tonight was the night, we were going to take over the first part of Empoli. The city was under the ruling of Florence, but we wanted to change that.
Florence was in hands of the Templars, which meant Empoli was as well. If we could locate and eliminate Agnolo Fattore, it would be like breaking a shackle of their chain.
Two guards quickly neared us as we both readied our swords. The one I was aiming for swung his sword at me, which I easily blocked with my own. In one swift move I swept my hidden-blade, stabbing through the gap between the breastplate and shoulder plates. He dropped his sword wincing in pain. I quickly hit the side of his head the back of my sword. I tried to keep my killing to a minimum, but my hands weren't clean anymore. I had blood on my name.
Unlike me, Dawn had finished her opponent a lot faster. Then again she was a lot more skilled than I could probably ever be. "Let's burn that flag." She yelled before running up the wall grabbing onto a ledge of a window. It was always amazing to see how fast Dawn moved up buildings, but there was no time to watch. I quickly followed suit using the exact same ledges and sticking out rocks as her since they seemed to hold very well. There is always that struggle of knowing what was safe to hold onto or stand on, so following someone else was easier.
When I was reaching the top of the tower I could hear the clashing of swords. I quickly pulled myself up the platform seeing four guards attacking Dawn, but she didn't struggle at all. She deflected every swing they took at her with ease and strook back with her own sword.
Soon two more had made it to the top of the tower, but non of them paid me any mind. They were all after Dawn. One guard, a captain if I wasn't mistaken rushed towards her from behind. I rushed over to her, sparks came of my sword as it clashed with his. He wasn't very strong, but I wasn't that much stronger as I could only raise my sword a little. When he pulled his sword skywards to take another blow I quickly buried my hidden-blade in his waist.
He dropped his sword immediately clutching his side, but I didn't show mercy. With another blow I slid his neck open and turned back to Dawn charging at another guard. "Dietro di te!" I had no time to react to Dawns warning, but luckily she drew her crossbow firing a bolt at the man behind me.
Without even glancing at the attacker I dug my blade into a guard his guts. I rolled my eyes as the man attempted to stop the bleeding and finished it with digging my hidden-blade in his neck. Taking a step sideways I crouched dodging one of the other guards wild swings. Taking my own turn I quickly strook his knee joint since his armor didn't protect any of it. Before I could finish him myself I saw a shadow going over me as Dawn jumped over my crouching form pinning the guard down and digging her hidden-blade in his neck.
Taking a quick glance around I saw that she had taken care of all the other guards. "Thanks, but I had it." I said standing back straight up.
"I know, just wanted to show off." She said with a confident smile passing me. I shook my blade a little trying to get rid of the remaining blood before attaching it to my belt again. My eyes searched the tower before spotting multiple flags with my families crest, making me hate it even more. "Do you want to do it?" I turned my head at Dawn as she spoke up. She was holding a torch offering it to me.
