Lynn
When Dawn left us at the tower I was kinda sad, she didn't even say much other then a thanks. She didn't want her armor back either, so now I have it hid in my bedroom under the bed, it's not like the clean up would go under there much. Ciro was still at the mansion and allowed to stay here as my personal guard, he stayed at the door the whole night making sure no one could get in.
It's weird, three days further and I already feel like I'm back in a prison. I wasn't allowed to go outside, not even in the yard since the family felt targeted. We have always been targeted, but back then I was at least allowed to walk the streets.
A sudden knock on the door made me look up from the bed at the door. "Yes?" I asked confused at why someone wanted to talk to me now, it's not like anyone said much these past days. The door slowly opened with Ciro walking inside the room helmet in his arms and a concerned look on his face.
"You okay?" He asked walking inside and closing the door behind him. Right now he was the only one I had and could talk to, dad tried to replace him a couple times because we are that close. But of course I refused to trust another guard at my door.
Letting out a sigh I tried to think of a not too down answer. "No." Well that went as planned. I watched as he put down his helmet and sat down on the end of the bed. "When am I allowed outside again?"
Scratching the back of his head it seemed like the answer wasn't gonna be "Soon" or "Now". "You know it's hard to convince your father that It is safe enough outside with just one guard. Plus now that they found out your friend escaped he doubled the guards around the mansion." Ciro explained.
It was a miracle that no one caught us that day, they still think she escaped on her own. "Those guards are as dumb as my dad." I said in an annoyed tone.
"Lynn don't say that, we don't know what kind off people work with your father." Ciro warned sternly. There he did have a point, father had all these meetings with people who I never heard off. Some enter the house with five guards and others escaped him to come to a secret meeting. Whatever they were up to, it all seemed quite important.
I wonder if even mother knows what he all does as his work, she isn't home most of the times anyway. "What if we sneak into his office?" I asked looking up with hopeful eyes that he would say yes. It's the only place i am not allowed in this whole house there has to be something there! "Come on Ciro, he is out on a meeting anyway." I added.
He should be gone until dinner and because it's not even that late we have time to snoop in there. Ciro seemed to be thinking about it hard as he rubbed his chin. "What about the guards?" He asked with a raised brow.
"You're a guard, aren't you a higher rank than them?"
"No, I'm a personal guard. I only have more to say about business that has to do with you." I guess he is right, even with the helmet his armor gives his rank away.
Getting of the bed I knelt down taking out Dawn her armor and weapons. "What if we do the same as we did at the prison?" If I wear the armor they wouldn't even know it is me, they would think they under attack. We would have to be fats at knocking them out too.
Ciro didn't seem to like that plan one bit, but I really wanted to do this. Maybe it could explain about my uncles death or even more. "I know that look means you won't accept a no." Ciro said sighing as he got up from the bed putting his helmet back on. "Now change and be fast." He said turning his back to me making me smile.
Quickly getting up I placed the set of armor on the bed quickly slipping out of my clothes keeping an eye on Ciro making sure he doesn't peek. "Keep looking at the door!" I said trying to find out how i put all of this on last time. Finding out where the pieces had to go I equipped the sword to the belt tapping Ciro's shoulder. "Done." I said proud.
"Getting through the house like this is gonna be difficult." He said while looking at the clothes judging. I light hit his head so he would look up again. "Hey! Don't say it isn't true, you are wearing enemies armor." He said in defense.
"Doesn't mean you need to give me those judging eyes." With that I walked passed him faking a pout and towards the door. I took a look outside seeing the floor I was on had no guards, not a big surprise since Ciro scared them all off. "How many guards are there in the hall?" I asked trying to look over the railing to see if there were any.
Ciro simply walked out of the room leaning onto the railing. Suddenly I saw his eyes go wide and he backed away from the railing. "Non....they all knocked out." He said mentioning for me to come over and take a look. I looked down and indeed, there were four guards knocked out on the ground.
That could only mean one thing, someone else was in the house and they did not belong here. Ciro took his sword out of his belt and started walking down the stairs that lead right next to the great door in the hall. I stayed close behind him also holding a sword, but probably completely wrong.
When I was younger and saw the guards practice their sword fighting I always wanted to learn how to use a sword too, but mom said a lady should let a man fight for her. Though I still want to learn it, I can protect myself if I was allowed to learn how to.
"I think someone had the same idea as us." Ciro said in a whisper tone walking closer towards the other side of the hall where my dad his office was located. The two heavy armed guards were gone, probably moved so no one would notice. "I'll go in first." Ciro said going faster towards the door leaving me a few feet away from it.
Not even deciding to turn the doorknob and slowly go inside the office he slammed his foot against the lock. With that the lock and doorknob rolled off and the door went open. Going in with his sword ready I heard a loud thud and ran over to the door hoping he was okay.
When reaching the door I pointed the sword in front of me reading to stab whoever was in that room with him. The room was pitch black except for the light coming through the door flame that was half covered by my shadow, I heard no noise and tried to adjust to the dark until metal clanged making my sword hit the ground.
"You really need someone to teach you how to use a sword." I recognize that voice...
"Dawn?" I asked taking a step back hoping for a yes and not a sword in my body. Someone pulled the curtains away from the window so sunlight could get in and there she was again. Together with someone else....why are they all here?
"Yes?" She asked with a small smirk as it was obvious that it was her. She was wearing a whole new set of armor with more throwing knifes attached to it and pockets. The armor looked older yet stronger and she seemed to wear it with a lot of pride.
Suddenly reality struck me that they just broke into my oh so well guarded house and are taking down my dad his office. "What are you guys doing here?!" I asked panic kicking in as I quickly went towards the desk hoping it was still fine "This is the only room no one is allowed to!"
"That's why we are here!" The guy looking through the bookshelf said. Good thing was he placed each book back in, but it was still not fun that they were snooping around.
"Sorry for Hagan his behavior. We were send here Lynn, something isn't right with what your father does." Dawn explained very serious looking. So I was right about the meetings being too weird to understand.
It all made sense now, except why are they here? Suddenly a sharp pain went through my body as my arm was pulled onto my back and a boot was pressed onto my leg forcing my to kneel down. "Do we kill them?" A female voice asked.
I looked up at Dawn who was asked the question to and she looked back at me very unsure about what to say.
"Well....."
