I looked around the garden admiring the lovely summer day. Everything seemed so alive, from the flowers, to the fountain, the birds flying through the open sky. Nothing was missing, well almost nothing. I turned around taking a glimpse at the back door, but it was still closed. After letting out a small sigh I returned to reading my book which consisted of some old tales.

It had been a while since I could truly enjoy reading again and put time into it. Ever since the order it was hard to find some free time. You either had to train, go on missions, finish contracts, it was really time consuming. Now that everything was restored and I got a couple ranks up, I had more time to stay home. I was now Second rank Assassin Lynn Acerbi, even my own unit of students to train.

The masters found that after two years of heavy training, I would be capable of training new members to the order. Which allowed me to stay more at the back lines, training and teaching my pupils. When they were out on missions, I had free time to do whatever I desired to do. Like enjoying the peaceful and quiet sunny afternoon...

"Mommy!"

There goes the quiet part.

I looked up from my book as the backdoor swung open with a loud bang. It didn't take long before a pair of arms were around my waist and Irene gave me a toothy smile. "You little devils!" Before I could say anything I heard Christina loudly curse as she struggled to walk into the yard, four kids hanging onto her legs. Annoyance clearly on her face as it looked like she was walking up a steep hill.

I couldn't help but laugh at the sight while I set my book aside before lifting Irene on my lap. "My, oh, my, aren't you great with children?" I asked in a teasing tone making Christina look up at me, almost glaring.

She stopped moving as she crossed her arms over her chest before huffing. "Well excuse me, but these aren't my responsibilities." She stated in a matter of fact tone eyeing up and down towards the giggling kids. "Where is Dawn anyway?"

"She is supposed to b-"

"Right here." Everyone looked over at the back door as Dawn walked into the yard with a sly grin on her face. She stopped eyeing Christina up and down before letting out a snicker, which only made the girl more annoyed. "Nice pair of boots you got there." A frustrated sigh escaped Christina before she bend down.

She picked Stefano up before forcing him into Dawn's arms, who seemed to have no problem carrying him at all. Then she continued prying each child off of her and putting them on Dawn. Two in arms, one on her back and the last on stood up holding onto her waist. "Don't drop them, you might end up hurting them." Christina gave a small wink before taking a couple steps back enjoying the struggle Dawn was having. Even I was surprised that she was able to hold them all up. They had all grown so much in the past time, so they weren't exactly light weights.

Dawn was starting to shake on her legs as her face turned red. "Stefano, please get off." He immediately did as the words barely came out as a whisper. She placed the other kid down carefully and eyed the one on her leg in a pleading manner, which worked. "See, if you're nice it works." Christina just shrugged before sitting down on the bench next to me.

I smiled as Dawn walked closer smiling down at me before kneeling down in front of me. "I thought you would only come back tomorrow?" Her hands already on mine as she rubbed her thumb over my knuckles.

Her gentle smile quickly turned into a smirk and before she spoke a word I already rolled my eyes. She was about to brag about being so good and enjoyed doing so, but nonetheless I enjoyed listening. "Well, turned out my target wasn't that far as the papers stated. So I found him at this bar, not even paying any attention, made my way over there and.. Well you know what happened after." She finished winking as she held her hand up showing the hidden blade on her gauntlet.
