After words of encouragement from Lillian and Nicolas, Thea made her way to a laughing Lily and James. "Oh! Thea hey where were you?!" Lily asked hugging the girl and offering her a glass of intoxicated punch.
Thea thanked her smiling at the redhead. "Oh was just hanging out with Nicolas and Lillian," she replied her eyes darting to the dancing couple who looked so happy.
Lily smiled looking at them and sighing dramatically "I wish I could have that type of love." Thea agreed.
James watched the two girls an alarm going in his head to go and ask Lily for the dance as his favorite song "Somebody to Love" by Queen started to play. But his heart ached to take Thea's hand and lead her to the dance floor.
Thea's gaze went to James her heart and mind begging her to drag the boy to the dance floor. "Oh, there is Alice! I will be right back." Lily exclaimed moving away from the two not missing to send a wink to James a cheeky smile on her face. Thea's face fell the aching in her heart growing.
The two friends spend moments in silence having an internal debate with themselves. "So would you like this dance kind sir?" Thea asked raising her eyebrows.
James laughed bowing his head and taking her hand in his "Of course Madame." Thea giggled as the two went to the dance floor dancing to the beat.
"I need somebody to love me!" Thea sang meaning each lyric as she sang quietly.
James grinned at the brunette twirling her around Thea laughed as he dipped her down their faces inches apart. A flash went off not noticed by the two, captivated by each other's eyes.
"How I told you how glamorous you look tonight," James whispered in her ear as the two started to dance to a slow song. Theas hand on his shoulder and one in his hand, while James wrapped his hands around her waist dangerously close to her arse.
Thea inhaled sharply looking at his beautiful chocolate-brown eyes. "No... You didn't. But you look absolutely Lavish and stunning." Thea whispered her eyes darting towards his pink soft lips. James chuckled as he pulled them apart and bought them other again.
"Why thank you. I must say the brown pants and the white shirt suit me." James said, Thea looked down at his exposed chest the four buttons left unbuttoned.
She gulped the loose tie around his neck making her want to choke him right there.
The two swayed to the song gazing longingly at each other's eyes. James' mind and heart were battling he didn't know what he wanted to do.
His eyes darted towards Sirius who was looking at the two, When their eyes met Sirius winked his way.
That's when reality crushed James, he remembered the way the two acted. His eyes snapped towards the girl who looked happy dancing with him.
"What's up with you and Sirus you seemed...cozy," James said his tone harsh.
Thea's eyes widen as a chuckle escapes her lips. "Oh nothing he is just being Sirius a flirt," she said her smile turned into a frown when she saw James angry.
"Oh." was all he said. "Look I gotta go and find Lily," James said.
Thea's mood instantly dropped as the boy got away from her and dusted himself as if he had touched dirt.
He sprinted away to find Lily. Thea stood on the dance floor surrounded by couples, her heart seemed to ache.
After staring at the way James went for what seemed like hours she went after James to see if he was okay and she wished she hadn't.
She wished to obliviate herself.
There was James in a corner outside the room of requirements kissing none other than Lily Evans.
The only glue that seemed to hold her heart together broke. Her heart shattered into a million pieces as she started at the scene in front of her. The pain in her chest became unbearable, her breathing became heavier her senses numbed.
The tears running down her face were just a reality check.
Always Lily I will never be the one. She ran away wiping the tears away, she went whenever her legs took her. She kept mumbling to herself 'You are okay don't be fucking dramatic.'
She halted when she saw Sirus and Remus making out a smile appeared on her face. "At least one of us accomplished our mission," she mumbled sadly moving away to give the couple some privacy.

Thea found herself in the astronomy tower she looked at the stars above. After a deep breath, she grabbed the nearest object which happened to be someone's glass of unfinished water. She took it and threw it on the wall screaming her pain away.
She sat down sobbing her pain. "Why always her? Why Godric why? Why can't I be her? Am I, not good enough? Fuck you! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU FOR MAKING ME FALL IN LOVE. FUCK YOU BECAUSE I WILL BE NEVER HER." she yelled pulling her hair in stress.
"Never be her," she mumbled sobbing and playing with the necklace her parents gave her. "Ouch, what in the name of Merlin did that glass of water do to you?" a soft voice said and quickly muttered a spell to repair the glass.
"Sorry, I didn't know that this place was occupied," Thea muttered her eyes widening as she recognized that it was Regulus Black. The two never had a conversation apart from nods and smiles.
Thea knew how much Regulus meant to Sirius so each Christmas she would secretly send the younger boy a box of her handmade cookies, small notes, and a small gift.
Regulus had never figured out who sent him the gifts but he was grateful and waited every Christmas for the barny owl to drop the goodies.
The boy gave her a soft smile as his gaze went toward her hands. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked at her bloody hands, the piece of glass stuck in her palms. The pain was so unbearable that she didn't even notice the cut on her palms.
"You really should take care of yourself more," he said taking his wand out to heal her hand.
Thea smiled at the younger boy wincing as the pain went away. "How did you learn that?" Thea asked in surprise watching as only a few small pink scars were left on her palm. "Just some extra learning," Regulus replied sitting beside the girl.
"You will be a real good healer one day Regulus," she whispered sending him a small smile. "No need to fake a smile even when you are in the most unbearable pain Travers," Regulus said watching the girl with cautious eyes.
Thea broke down into tears his words really meant a lot to her. Her lips quivered as she didn't try to hold back her cries anymore. Regulus didn't ask why she was crying he awkwardly patted the older girl's head as she hugged him close.
And first time in many years someone had actually hugged him. Regulus felt like he was safe, the embrace was warm, and oddly to him it felt like home.
He hesitated at first but eventually gave in and hugged the girl who looked like she needed it the most.
And somehow Regulus Black found himself having a soft spot for the older girl that night.
