Thea didn't know how happy she was when her mother told her that Sirius was okay and only needed rest. She decided to give him a visit but decided against it as she let Remus go first and talk with his lover.
Remus flashed Thea a grateful smile leaving the four in her room. "I am so glad he is okay." She whispers rubbing her arms together in comfort. "I just don't understand why he wouldn't tell us." Came the pained voice of James.
"The moment was never right for him to talk about it." Cameron slowly said with glossy eyes he kept on praying for a certain raven-haired boy's safety.
James and Peter look at him confused while Thea comforts him knowing well enough where he is coming from. "Things were pretty bad in their house. I guess he finally broke." He exhaled loudly squeezing his best friend's hands in a sense of comfort.
"It was like a ticking bomb you never know when it's going to blast." Thea rubbed Cameron's back in comfort. James stood there watching the two of them. He felt angry the feeling wasn't something he was used to and he didn't know why.
He didn't want to see his two best friends so close. The pit in his stomach grew as he averted his eyes from the pair. He let his mind wander towards the fight he had with Lily, naturally, tiredness and sadness gloomed him.
After an hour the four decided to pay their friend a visit. A tired beaten-up Sirius slept on the couch holding his lover's hands tightly.
Thea's eyes swelled with tears as she saw his state. "Hey there pads." She whispers caressing his head softly. She sat on the floor playing with his hair knowing well enough the boy loved it.
James moved to the edge of the couch standing near Remus. Peter joined him while Cameron sat in between Remus and Thea. "How ya feelin'?" Cameron asked looking concerned for his best mate.
"Like I'm high on every drug possible." Came the soft voice of Sirius the six of them chuckled knowing well enough they hadn't lost their old friend.
The six friends joked around trying to lift the spirits of everyone present in the room. The grumble from Sirius's stomach made everyone laugh. "Alright, we hear you. I am going to order some pizza Hope that's okay with everyone?" After getting an enthusiastic yes Thea and Cameron went to order their food.
Peter and Remus followed the lead going outside to take some air leaving the two best mates alone. The two best friends looked at each other for a moment saying nothing but exchanging glances.
James finally broke the silence. "Why didn't you tell?" And god he hated the way he sounded. He sounded lost and weak but mostly angry at himself for not being able to keep his best friend safe.
"It was just so out of the blue Prongs." Sirius groaned sitting up. "At one moment we were all having lunch and the next you know there is shouting and wands being pointed and then boom I left." James remained silent watching his friend with glossy eyes.
"I'm glad you decided to leave that horrible place," James said wrapping his arms around his friend. "You can stay with me as long as you want hell stay here forever." Sirius chuckled at his words.
"Thank you Prongs." Sirius words were muffled and he was glad that they were he couldn't help but cry. "I finally got out of there I am so happy. I finally did it Prongs." He said wiping his tears away.
"And I'm glad you did it Padfoot." James sniffled. The two best friends started to crack jokes again going back to their old selfs. And at that moment James wished this peace could continue forever.
After a heartily tired dinner and a movie marathon, the six friends said their goodbyes. "Good night Peter thank you so much for the cookies! Reach home safe." Thea exclaimed as she hugged and kissed his cheek waving her friend goodbye watching as he walked away to find a bus to his house.
"Bye Rem make sure you don't worry much. He is going to be okay." Thea smiled at her best friend giving him a warm hug. "Keep writing letters and uh before you go here." She gave him a mirror.
Remus looked at it confused, chuckling not understanding its use. "It's a connective mirror that James and Sirius share. You can just say Sirius's name and you can communicate with him through this." She explained a grin on her face.
"James asked me to give it to you since you are in much more need of this than any of us." She said laughing at the shocked face of the boy. "How?" Remus said in surprise his brain had stopped working.
"Don't know that's all James and Sirius." And with a hug and kiss the two friends parted away.
"Hey, no hugs and kisses for me?" Came the voice of Cameron as he opened his arms a pout on his face. Thea giggled as she hugged him and kissed his cheek. "Drive safe and don't overspeed this time I am not bailing you out." Cameron laughed at her statement.
"No promises." He winked holding his hands up in the air when Thea gave him a deathly glare. "I am sure he is okay. If anything happens call me." Thea said pulling her friend in one last hug.
"I'm just so worried about Reggie. I mean Sirius was his protective shield but now with Sirius here I don't know how he is going to survive there." Cameron and Regulus had gotten close the past year the two bonded when they bumped into each other past curfew.
While one was really drunk on his unhealthy alcohol consumption from the yet again best party of Gryffindor other was drunk on his pitiful life. And just like that the two started to fall for each other more than they could express.
"I'm sure he would be okay. Now don't worry take care of yourself. I will see you soon Night." And with Thea leaning on her door frame watching as her best friend drove away.
"Hey, what's in your mind bumble bee." Thea jumped on the sudden voice of James she relaxed and snorted at the ridiculous name he had given her yet again.
"I don't know. Just muddled mind I guess." James's hummed watching her face in the dim light of the moon and the street lights. "Sirius wants to meet you." Thea exhaled leaning her head in his shoulder.
"I can't believe how evil and vile his parents are. How can they do this to their own child!" Thea exclaimed rubbing her eyes. "The reality is so disgusting," James said and Thea agreed.
The two walked to James' house. Thea knocked on Sirius's door before entering. A sleepy Sirius sat on his bed. "Hey, how are you feeling now?" Thea asked as she sat beside him.
"Much better since I'm here." She smiled softly at his words. "I'm sorry for ruining your day." Thea shook her head violently.
"Don't say a word and don't you dare apologize, Sirius Orion Black," Thea demanded shushing him.
"Government name scary," Sirius said under his breath, smiling sweetly when Thea ruffled his hair, indicating that she heard him.
"I'm so glad that you left that place. Now I can get to braid your hair every day!" Thea exclaimed as she excitedly ranted about what the two could do together.
Sirius never felt more grateful for the friends he had. His best mates were also his family and he was glad it was them and no one else.
Sirius was positive if anyone asked him who his family was without any hesitation he would say his friends. Because blood didn't matter in the end the comfort and welcomeness of home is what mattered.
And he slept while his best friends made a terrible impression on the Professors and danced in the moonlight.
Watching Thea and James dancing and singing to ABBA Sirius slept with a smile on his face.
