Many months passed away since the day Thea knew she had no chance. James and Lily seemed to get along pretty well. And Thea tried to move on by busying herself with sleepless nights of studying.
The marauders and the girls had taken a notice to her distant self. She would always wake up early going to great hall or the black lake for studying, later she would be in library studying till night. She would skip lunch and would be rarely present for dinner.
During classes she would only talk to girls except Lily and marauders except James. She would only exchange few words with James and Lily before making an excuse and running away to find a book to read.
Even her brother Nicolas and his girlfriend Lillian were worried about her. But Thea only talked to her family and sometimes the girls and marauders.
She distanced herself away from James and Lily as much as she could.
Her only goal was to study, get coffee, study, have tea, study, have meals, study, study, ignore James and Lily, study, study, more study, talk with Alice, study, study, talk with marauders minus James, study, study and never sleep.
It was her cycle now which she followed with much passion.
She ignored them like a plague and James started to notice her absence when he had an argument with Lily towards the starting of their O.W.L.S. He missed Thea. He didn't knew why she didn't talked with him but all he knew was he missed her.
He missed his Melody.
He missed her sweet voice and the horrible pig like laugh. Her constant attempts to annoy him and her beautiful brown eyes and her ability to make him laugh.
Today was their last exam, Potions. Something which James hated. He was stealing occasional glances with Thea who was sitting beside him.
After their exam were over Thea felt more relived then she ever did. But this time she would have to face James she wouldn't have any excuses to not talk to him.
After giving her paper she decided to get out of the hall as fast as she could. Before she could move away James blocked her path. "Oh Merlin I still can't believe that exams are over!" He exclaims.
Thea muttered a small yea avoiding eye contact. "Let's go on a small walk to clear our minds off what do you say?" James asked not evening waiting for her answer he hold onto her wrist and dragged her to the rest of the marauders.
"Fucks sake we are finally feee now!" Cameron exhaled giving Thea a side hug and then raising his eyebrows at their intertwined hands. "Ugh I can finally take out all the pant up sexual frustration." Sirius said winking at Remus.
Thea gagged as Remus simply shoved Sirius off him. "Too much information Snuffles." James said Thea agreed with him.
The six of them went on a small walk laughing and joking as Thea threaten to push Sirius in the Black Lake only to be pushed inside the black lake by James.
"JAMES YOU BLOODY GIT." Thea screamed as she swam up to the surface. The rest of the boy jumped into the lake splashing and swimming not caring about anything.
Thea laughed watching Peter struggle to be on surface. She helped the boy showing him the trick to stay in the water. Her laughter died when Cameron shoved her into the water.
"OI! Cammy you twat." She cursed at him shoving him playfully. The marauders laughed as Cameron and Thea started to fight in the water, tackling each other and shoving their heads into water as of to drown them.
After the six got out of water Remus said a spell drying all of them. James looked at the shorter girl beside him he had missed the same girl who he was with right now. James felt proud that she was back to herself and not drowning herself in books.
"PIGGY BACK RACE!" Sirius shouted tackling Remus, Peter got into Cameron's back and the four of them started running towards the castle. "You losers Manx and Prongs you all stink!" Remus shouted.
James looked at Thea questioning her. Thea hesitated before she gave up she hated hating. So with a run towards James she jumped onto his back securing her hands around his neck.
James inhaled her scent he was so familiar with. The sweet Vanilla mixed with the scent of chocolates and strong perfume she always wore. He smiled at the familiarity before running easily catching up with the four.
"Hold on tight Melody we are going for a long run." And before Thea could object James ram in a great speed. Thea gasped first squeezing her eyes shut as if she would fall any moment.
But she exhaled when she feel the wind rushing past her. She opened her eyes laughing, she look back seeing the boys were way far away from them.
"YOU SUCK LOSERS!" She exclaimed flipping the four boys off. After they entered the castle Thea got of from the bespectacled boys back.
She hugged him tight laughing and grinning wildly. "Oh my god Jamesie! That was incredible what kind of food you eat!" She exclaimed. James caught off guard by her actions let out a small chuckle.
He watch with loving eyes as Thea teased the four boys. His eyes never left for one second off her, James had completely forgotten that he had a girlfriend who he had an argument with two weeks back.
But right now James didn't care. He was too captivated watching Thea smiling and laughing. He knew she was his happy place and there was nothing that could change it.
