Tristian's mind was still reeling, lost in thought as he pondered the mystery of his sons' recent behavior. What could they have been up to over the last two weeks? He couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
The image of Lucas and Cyril's mischievous grins and Scarlett's enigmatic smile lingered in his mind, fueling his curiosity. He leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together as he tried to piece together the puzzle of their strange actions. Little did he know, the truth was far more extraordinary than he could have ever imagined.
"I think they're hiding something," Tristian's grandmother interjected, her voice breaking into his thoughts. "Better find out before it's too late to discover their mischief."
But before Tristian could respond, Lucas spoke up in his characteristic childish tone, "You don't have to waste your time trying to figure it out, because we're going to tell you right now, right here."
All five pairs of eyes turned to gaze at the two boys, filled with questioning curiosity. Lucas and Cyril carefully made their way down the stairs, their little legs moving in unison as they approached their family. With an air of excitement, they settled into the love seat, facing the five expectant faces in the sitting room. The room fell silent, awaiting the revelation that was about to unfold.
"We've taken it upon ourselves to find a suitable mother for us and a wife for you," Cyril announced, reclining against the seat with a nonchalant air. "Since you couldn't seem to manage it properly on your own."
Tristian's eyes narrowed, his voice taking on a defensive tone. "Hold on a minute, what do you mean I couldn't do it? You two were the ones who chased them away with your devious schemes!"
Lucas mirrored his brother's relaxed posture, his expression unrepentant. "That's because you didn't do your due diligence on the women you brought to this manor. You didn't know the first thing about them."
Tristian's gaze intensified, his eyes squinting as he pressed for clarification. "So what exactly are you insinuating now? That you two know better than I do when it comes to choosing a partner?" The room hung with anticipation, awaiting the brothers' response to their father's pointed question.
"It's simple, Dad," Cyril explained, his tone matter-of-fact. "The bride we've been pursuing for two weeks is the one we want in our home."
Tristian's confusion was evident. "I don't understand. Explain it clearly."
Lucas's voice was calm and gentle. "We're saying she's going to be our mother in the future, but as far as I'm concerned, she's already our mother at heart." He pointed to the left side of his chest, his brother nodding in agreement.
Cyril added with a mischievous grin, "And you're going to woo her, whether you like it or not."
The others struggled to stifle their laughter at the audacity of the two boys. Tristian's eyes widened in disbelief. "So you crashed a wedding just because you wanted her as a mother?"
Lucas rolled his baby blue eyes. "We didn't crash her wedding, the jerk did. We just... facilitated the outcome," he replied waving his tiny hands for a dramatic effect, 'these boys are snakes in human flesh ' Tristian thought helplessly.
Tristian's eyes widened in incredulity. "Wait a minute, you're asking me to woo someone I've never even met? I don't know the first thing about her, and you're telling me to just... woo her?"
Cyril's expression turned cold, his voice firm. "We know everything about her, and she's perfect for you. So, it's either you woo her, or we take matters into our own hands."
