Love is a serious mental disease, and I am a willing victim of it.
___________________________________Jaden quickly placed a kiss on his sister in-law's head before ushering her to the door and swung it opened as she walked out. Scarlett stared at the bastard before her blankly as he licked his lips, Jaden's fists were clenched tightly, regretting the plan he made but he couldn't breake his promises now.
Scarlett caught his fist, squeezing it in reassurance as she placed a chaste but tender kiss on his cheek, disipating his rage in nothingness, "It's okay, Jay I'll be back before you know it," She said with a smile that momentarily calm him down while their captor watched in amusement.
"Let's go," Scarlett said tonelessly, unlike the warmth her voice carried when she spoke to Jaden, that made the Welsh heir scowled at her sinisterly which only made Jaden smirk, Scarlett might not love him romantically but she was damn and fucking protective of him.
Jaden locked the door and slipped into the closet, gathering the essentials for their escape plan. Over the past eight months, he had meticulously gathered information on the mansion's escape routes, preparing for this moment. He gazed tenderly at his nieces and nephews, sleeping peacefully, as he set down the baby hamper Scarlett had made the Welsh bastard bought it three months ago, but Jaden didn't dwell on that. He focused on the task at hand, packing only the necessities: baby food, water, and comforters.
After a quick shower, Jaden dressed in black attire - joggers, a V-neck polo shirt, and a matching hoodie, complete with black ankle-length boots and a black cap. He then carefully dressed the babies in jumpsuits, tiny jackets, and shoes, his love and tenderness evident in every gesture. If anyone witnessed this moment, they would have thought the children were his own, not Tristian's.
"I love you all so much," Jaden whispered, placing gentle kisses on each of their foreheads. "I hope your father doesn't misinterpret my actions. I'm doing this for your safety, not to betray him." With a deep breath, he prepared to embark on their perilous journey.
As he strolled towards the window, Jaden glanced at his watch before gazing out at the guards stationed at every corner of the building. A sinister smirk spread across his face as he spotted a stealthy figure navigating the shadows with ease. "Pathetic," he whispered, his voice laced with disdain. "The bastard is so cheap that he's hired nothing but inept bodyguards."
Jaden's eyes gleamed with amusement, clearly unimpressed by the security measures. "No wonder his father always fawns over the Zwick brothers like a persistent nuisance," he added, his tone dripping with contempt. The devil, it seemed, had no idea how to truly protect himself.
Meanwhile, Tristian looked at the small cozy apartment before with cold eyes masking the paranoia within his soul, why was he even pitying that little guy? He brushed his hesitation aside and walked into the house through the back door, the person who was covering for the guy was really stupid to keep them here in the open.
"Pathetic," He mumbled taking a seat in the dark room and crossing his legs with a bottle of whiskey in his grasp as he waited patiently for his victim to have their sleep.
Tristian's repose was interrupted by the soft click of a gun being cocked, followed by the gentle press of cold metal against his forehead. The room seemed to brighten, and he hummed, his nonchalance a stark contrast to the danger that now surrounded him. "Clever, aren't we?" he asked, his eyebrows rising as his eyes snapped open, their intensity and coldness making his captor flinch.
The air was heavy with tension as Tristian's gaze bore into the person holding the gun. "Who are you, and what are you doing in my house?" His captor's tone was glacial, but Tristian's eyes spoke volumes, conveying a sense of rigid control that needed no words. The silence that followed was oppressive, punctuated only by the sound of heavy breathing.
