Many words hurt more than swords.

It's funny how you can do nice things for people all the time and they never notice. But once you make one mistake, it's never forgotten.

The air in his lungs seemed to be burning, his thoughts a maelstrom of emotions. He felt like he was suffocating, his heart pounding in his ear like a drum. For a moment, he thought he was incompetent as a father, but he quickly dismissed the notion. Looking at the girl before him, he couldn't muster any anger. How could he? She was so young, yet so mature, and it broke his heart. He hated the unfairness of it all, the world's cruelty to his children. The girl gulped, her eyes fixed on the man she had wronged, seeking a glimpse of him but regretting it. His appearance told her everything - the pain, the anguish, the weight of his emotions. It hurt her to see him hurting, to know she was the cause.
She wished she could turn back time, make the right decision, and undo the harm. But life didn't offer do-overs, and all she could do was face the consequences of her actions. The weight of her regret was crushing, her eyes locked on Tristian's, searching for forgiveness, but unsure if she deserved it.
"I'm sorry. Forgive me, I just wanted to see you. Just for once," she said covering her face with her palms as her shoulders shook with broken sobs piercing the very heart of Tristian. She had always thought that her father was just a normal middle-class man, not a billionaire daddy who has a formidable woman as a wife who he loves so much despite his power and wealth. Tristian pulled the girl into his arms after getting down on his knees while both his families watched in astonishment, wasn't he too young to have a daughter this age?
"It's an okay princess. Everything is going to be fine," Tristian comforted the girl, his daughter, his dearest daughter. His first child from his first love, he could never forget her, Victoria would always have a special place in his heart.
"No, it's not okay. I have hurt you and that was selfish of me," She said pulling out of his arms, Tristian wiped her tears gently as she continued, "I should have known that you were the same people, I thought you were middle-ass man and I was just concerned with having a father that I didn't care about your feelings and that is something I can never forgive myself for," has he told anyone how he hated her maturity? The girl looked so remorseful and drained as if she had been sleep-deprived.
"And if you want me or ever want to see my face, I'll understand. The last thing I want is to be the source of your pain," She said defeated by karma.
"Look at me," Tristian said, his voice cold but his eyes warm with emotion. Her gaze met his, and he continued, "I want you here, with me. I'm deeply sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed me, but I promise to spend the rest of my days making it up to you."
His voice cracked with conviction as he spoke, "You're my first child, born from my first love, a precious gift from God. A gift I vow to cherish until my last breath. Every morning, I'll thank the heavens for giving me you."
Tristian's words poured out like a balm to her soul, filling her with promises and assurance. She burst into tears of joy and relief, embracing him tightly as her body shook with sobs. Her hands wrapped around his neck, holding him close as she sniffled and cried, finally feeling the acceptance and love she had longed for.
"Thank you for accepting me," She said with a smile as she stared at the majestic man before her causing him to smile back.
"No need thank me. I'm your father, it's the right thing to do and I want to do it," he said tucking a dark lock behind her ear with a smile. This is all she had ever wanted, a father and a family, siblings, uncles, aunts, grandparents and great-grandparents, and a loving mother since hers was no longer alive.
