We woke up to birds chirping from every direction and the sound of the River water flowing. Y/n was the first one to get up and prepare sunny side up eggs along with bacon. I was given my cup of coffee along with her opening up the chair for me to sit in. The morning air was chilly and the clouds were mostly gray. Our phones had little to no service, when I attempted to call Irene, it hadn't gotten through.
After breakfast, we went 'exploring', as Y/n called it. Truly, it was just crossing the bridge and making our way up the exhausting trail towards the tip of the mountain. Y/n carried a backpack with emergency needs and her camera. I took care of water bottles and my book. Half way up, I had began to get sweaty and the chilly weather no longer affected my body's warm temperature.
By the time we reached the top, I was convinced there was no way I would make it back down. My feet ached and my legs began to get sore. I was impressed by how much energy Y/n carried. At the top was a bench that welcomed the most beautiful view of the city and mountains before us. I took a seat while watching her take pictures of every little thing.
"Are you tired?" She asked sitting beside me.
"Extremely" my head rested on her shoulder, "What are tomorrow's plans?"
Y/n intertwined our hands "It's a surprise, you'll have to wait"
I hate surprises, I absolutely hate the anticipation that comes with them but I will have to be patient. Tomorrow is my birthday and as long as I have Y/n to spend it with, it will be all I need.
The way back to our tent was much easier and only required one break which Y/n used up to take even more pictures. I was sweaty, tired and needed a nice warm bath. The clothes I wore were meant to keep me warm in this chilly weather, now they felt suffocating as we reached the tent.
"Let's go for a swim" Y/n said pulling my hand into the tent "Change into different clothes"
"I don't want to-"
She closed the tent and walked away leaving me inside.
I heard as she chuckled to herself and I couldn't help but smile and look for something to change into. Y/n would never force me to do something I don't want to, she knows I'll go for a swim with her because I'm equally as in need of a bath. I switched into loose shorts and a pajama t-shirt, without shoes I made my way out into the chilly air.
My hands immediately flew to cover my eyes when I stepped out and found her wearing nothing but her black sport bra and athletic shorts. She laughed telling me it was okay to look. Her tattoo filled arms and perfectly toned abdomen immediately had my eyes feeling stuck. My cheeks flushed red when I realized I hadn't said anything and only stared at the half naked girl.
"Aren't you cold?" I looked away and began to walk towards the shore.
She followed behind, "Nope"
Her arms wrapped around my waist bringing my feet off the ground. I knew where this was going and as much as I was telling her to stop, we both knew I didn't. My legs kicked and her tight hold made me feel warm inside. Next thing I knew, she had launched into the water taking me in with her.
The water was cold, when I stood up it was all the way up to my chest. I wanted to get out and wrap my body inside a warm towel but it instead stayed where I was and began to splash water towards Y/n. My action resulted in water being splashed all over the place in a battle against each other. Eventually we both grew tired and I no longer felt so cold. I watched Y/n stroke her hair then lay back allowing her body to easily hover over the water.
"Join me", her eyes were closed shut, her arms and legs perfectly balancing her. "I taught you once, you can do it"
I went ahead and did as she told me right beside her.
