(The Sinful Soldier)

"I hate the life I was given."

:—————:

It felt like a war was waging inside me, like the battle between good and evil was commending, burning a hole through my entire body, leaving no room for myself to breath. The good were winning against the bad, slowly and surely making my entire head bleed with meaningless emotions.

I went frozen.

Not really frozen, I wasn't frozen to anything, but I was frozen. I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe, I couldn't do anything but stare at what was in front of me, not what, but who was standing in front of me.

My heart escalated, I could feel it thumping against my rib cage faster and faster, on the verge of breaking every rib in my body from how fast the adrenaline set into my body like a tsunami of fire.

A pair of two dark gray eyes met mine, the features of a statue who could have only ever existed in the ancient times when gods existed. A man who breaks the law of beauty and danger was standing a mere foot away from me staring blood covered daggers towards me. His gaze never eased, only thickened the feeling growing in my stomach, making it fume into nothing but the pits of burning hell.

I felt lost.

"Forgot, you don't speak," Levi sounded disappointed, like the energy in his voice was almost gone. "It's been a while since our last encounter, don't you think?" Yeah...a whole month.

His head tilted slightly towards the door that was still wide open.
I was still in utter shock.

'How the hell did he find my house?'

'How?'

I wanted to speak and ask him what the hell he's doing here at this time of hour, and especially at my front door after not seeing him for a month. But I couldn't, my voice was locked away deep-deep inside a crevice where only the strongest could ever withdrawal it.

"I've been concerned, since you abruptly left after that whole incident I felt the need to check up on you," He stopped giving me a run through from head to toe pulling a line of shivers up my back to which he stopped at my palm. "How's your hand?" He asked, locking eyes with me, gliding them over my scarred eye rather curiously again.

'Why'

'Why are you asking me about my injuries?'

'Why?'

Catching a steady breath, I rotated my hand so that my palm faced upwards in the sight of both of us and brought it between me and him. For an odd reason it felt like I was showing something fragile to Levi, like a secret that should be kept locked away and forgotten forever.
A sinking feeling washed over me.

A hand reached towards mine.

Harshly, I pulled back.

"You think I'm going to hurt you?"

Yes, yes I do. I know you'll hurt me, everyone does. You can't touch me Levi, never. If you ever do, a piece of me will get burned in your grasp.
