(The Sinless Soldier)
"Sometimes it's best to leave things as it is."

Standing out in the warmer weather of this morning was rather rougher than I'd expected. I could feel a pounding headache begin to set sail in my head slowly easing its way towards my vision. I saw blurry spots as I looked towards the brats who were training with partners today.
I sighed hearing footsteps approach me.
"Where were you last night?" Hanji's voice crept my way rather curiously.
"What's in it for you?" I responded not acknowledging her presence growing closer towards me.
"Nothing, just curious," She sounded like she wasn't finished with her thoughts. "It's just, you came back to your office two hours before training started." Oh here it goes...
"What about it?" I asked finally turning my glance towards her, seeing a God awful smirk lace her lips signaling me she wants to dissect this odd demeanor that she should've been asleep for. Scratch that, Hanji's a mad scientist, and scientist's never sleep from what I know.
"It's not like you to leave your office at night, and wonder back in at such times." Hanji's tone took a turn. I kept silent no longer feeling the need to continue this conversation.
A screeching whine pierced my ear not even a second later.
"Come on Levi! Who were you seeing!" She grabbed my arm yanking it back and forth.
I pulled back, pushing her hand off me.
"Piss off Hanji," I hissed, glaring at her. "I wasn't seeing anyone." I added, calming my voice to lead her on my lie.
"Then why were you out?" She kept repeating herself.
"I was at the bar for fuck sakes, what's so special about that?" I snapped, her eyes widened in surprise of my sudden defensive reaction. Her fingers twirled around her arm. I think I scared her.
'Shit...' I thought, then realized I was talking to Hanji.
"Jeez shorty, no need to get so riled up." Both her hands went up between us. I rolled my eyes from the nickname she gives me.
"Leave me alone shitty-glasses." I uttered, beginning to walk away towards the group of cadets huddled together having a conversation.
Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Reiner and Bertolt.
I could tell they saw me coming because of their quick reaction time to scuffle away and continue doing their usual routine, but that doesn't mean they won't get extra training for slacking off. Just because Hanji caught my attention with her nagging mouth, doesn't diss the fact they stopped training.
"All of you, 20 laps." I ordered, groans of all sorts met the atmosphere, and complaints towards Eren were inflicted.
I watched as they all scurried away to run their quick 20 laps that should not take more than an hour, that gives me an hour to think about the question I want to ask Erwin.
