Oh. My. Godpheus.
I can't believe I just finished this book!!! My Pet Human has been a massive and timely journey, and has pushed my writer's block levels over the hills... but I made it! And after all the effort, I'm actually pretty pleased with the turnout. This is by far my best piece of writing, and has definitely had the most research and planning. I'd never really read the bible prior to writing this so it took quite a bit of flicking through the verses to pick out snipits that fit into my theme.
Basically, the reason I thought up this book in the first place was to challenge our history, but not in an anti-religious way by any means. What if God wasn't who we all perceive him to be, for instance? My aim in creating My Pet Human was to combine the beliefs of science and religion together, by incorporating biblical themes into a modernized world before our own. After all, how much about our creation do we really know? This was a tough question to explore.
Anyway, for the curious people out there, I wrote the whole thing on a word document, and overall, we had: 129,000 + words and a whopping 216 pages with an 11 sized font! That's my personal record for book length, with Minime only amounting to just over 100 pages! It's a miracle that I've managed to come out in one piece after sitting in bed writing all of those pages!
It also takes me about 2-3 hours per chapter, so when it all adds up... over 140 hours have been spent writing this bad boy!
I started writing My Pet Human two years ago when I was 14, after a particular philosophy class which asked us to 'draw god' brought a heap of questions to my mind. It made me realize that maybe, God wasn't human to begin with, seeing as he created the humans as a species. And that got me thinking that maybe there was intelligent life on earth before humans existed.
It's a fascinating concept, and I hope to look into it further in book 2, which I've decided to call: 'No Master Of Mine'.
Until then, I appreciate all who have followed me and inspired me to continue writing this book; without your encouragement, I would have scrapped it and moved on to something different. So a huge Laquanian hug to you all!!!
Feel free to comment me questions about the story, if you're curious. I'd love to hear some feedback ^^
Thankyou my little humans!
