'You can make plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail.' ~Proverbs 19:21

~Godpheus~
"You're not serious!" President Cambridge exclaimed in shock. He fumbled with the glasses and pushed them to the bridge of his nose before scanning the documents again. The day had been alright; a few mishaps with the Laquanian banks, and a more pressing matter of the disappearance of a few species, but Cambridge hadn't expected this much.
At seven in the morning, he'd received a long distance phone call from Meridia, the speaker being none other than the famous scientist and practitioner, Godpheus Mathews. It was in regards to the sudden disappearance of the tyrannosaurus rex, as well as the many other dinosaur and arthropod species which had been reported extinct earlier that week. Godpheus had proposed that he had a plan to halt the disappearances, although Cambridge knew that the man was going mad with his findings. The matter hadn't even reached level five yet.
So now, as he read the documents placed before him, with Godpheus himself seated at his desk, Cambridge had his doubts. The ideas the scientist offered could work, but the prospect of what the man called 'humanisation' wasn't even necessary just yet. That is, it wouldn't be necessary until Laquanians started to vanish.
"I've just heard that the Raptor has been wiped out. Its population was on the rise from 20 billion this morning, but suddenly, it dropped to zero." Godpheus stated, his fingers laced together. Cambridge pursed his lips. He'd already heard of the Raptor's disappearance, as that particular dinosaur had been Laquania's biggest pest. Sure, the world would benefit from the mass disappearance, but in the long term... "The disappearances aren't stopping, Mr President. If anything..." Godpheus indicated to a chart he'd prepared, which was propped up against the wall behind him. "They're quickening."
He's right. Cambridge thought to himself. It had been a little over three days since the nuclear radiation leak occurring up north, and one disappearance was reported. The second day produced two additional extinctions. And now... The brachiosaurus, stegosaurus and raptor species had disappeared. Three of the largest populations of dinosaurs on the planet. Three of the species who thrived before they vanished into thin air. Their pictures had been all over the press. Critics were calling it 'The Big Bang Theory'. The matter hadn't yet reached the Laquanian population in terms of extinction, but if it did...
"My studies show that the Perinal Rexodus, which is a tissue found in the common eye is linked to these sudden extinctions. It's the reason our eyes glow in the dark." Godpheus continued. Cambridge swallowed tightly. "As you may know, the species which have disappeared have nothing whatsoever in common... except..." Godpheus pointed to a diagram on the document the president was reading. A sketch of the eye.
"Perinal Rexodus." Cambridge finished.
"Precisely." Godpheus said. "And I'm sure you're aware that the only species recorded on Laquania which doesn't share this similarity is the human? My own creation?"
Cambridge said nothing for a moment, but nodded slowly. Discussing this issue with one of the smartest people in the world was doing his head in. The possibilities Godpheus was presenting chilled him to the core. "I am aware of that." He replied with a sigh.
