I've spent years building these walls,
Spent months fortifying this defense.
But you came and tore them all down,
As if all of it was just pretense.

Something clicked between us,
And the connection blossomed.
We enjoyed the time very much,
Even though we were cautioned.

Now I sit and watch those photos,
Of the good old, golden days.
And wonder what happened,
Which left me in this never ending maze.

I hope for my future,
Hope for a path back to you.
Through this endless labyrinth,
And forge a life anew.
