43. Loss of Hope.

You had me believing in life,
But then both our beliefs were shattered.
Now you say that hope is a fickle thing,
Even though before, hope really mattered.

I was always the pessimistic one,
Always preparing for the worst.
You showed me ways I didn't even think of,
Until our lucky bubble burst.

You showed me how to trust some friends,
But they ultimately betrayed us both.
I guess now you know the mistake too,
About the consequence-filled trust growth.

Now I look out for you while you regenerate,
Although I don't get the feeling of losing hope.
Because I didn't have any to start with,
So now, we try to hopelessly cope.
