At Genevieve, Genevieve and Mateo were talking. "I think Selina is someone we can trust in the business." "Yes, she helped me." Good," Genevieve turned around and looked at the picture of her and Lorenzo up above the fireplace. "Genevieve, I miss my father so much. That picture helps me remember why I do what I do. I remember that day Daddy and I took that picture. Elizabeth did a wonderful job painting it." "Yes, she did." Mateo was feeling emotional and wanted to say something as Skye came in. "Mateo, why are you here?" "Skye, you're supposed to let the guard know you're here." "This is my daughter's house. Now, what's going on?" "Mother, I was going to tell you that Mateo moved in." "Why?" "Because he's taking over Daddy's business and needs a place to stay, and I have room." "You're still in the business, aren't you, Genevieve? I'm your mother, and I can tell if you're lying to me!" Skye yelled. "Yes," Genevieve said. "I just lost my stepmother and sister, and now my nephew. I don't want to lose you too! Think about your children." Skye said to Mateo, "I will make sure Genevieve is safe, I promise you." "We both know you can't! I don't know you well enough to trust you! You just came to town claiming you're Lorenzo's brother—no one knows about him! Now you're living in his house and working with his daughter, it's like you're taking over his life," Skye said. "Mateo, can I talk to my mother alone?" "Sure," Mateo replied. He hates to see Skye like that and went into his office.
"Genevieve! Didn't getting shot get you to understand that this job is dangerous?" "I know it's dangerous, but I enjoy it. Running the hotel is boring." "Then do anything—you could have a talk show or start a business. You're a Quartermaine, not just an Alcazar! I wouldn't bury you before your time!" Skye yelled and left.
