Repairing The Family Part 3, Chapter 12
At Genevieve-Mateo was in his office. He looked at a picture of his family and then picked up the phone. "I'm calling to check on Diego Alcazar. I'm his Uncle Mateo," he asked as Genevieve was listening in the hallway. She was starting to get suspicious of Mateo and went into the office as he hung up the phone. "Uncle Mateo, what is going on?" "I've been thinking about what else we should do besides importing diamonds." "I wouldn't do anything with guns." "No, I understand." "Don't let my mother get to you. I'm not quitting, and there's not much I qualify for. I didn't finish high school, I ended up pregnant, and then married the bastard." "What happened to your husband?" "Alistair did make me happy for a while, but he didn't understand why I took over the business. He started to cheat and made a fool out of me. Daddy was right about him. I'm sure if he was alive, he would gloat over it. I keep thinking about what Daddy would do. He would get rid of someone for making a fool out of him. So, I poisoned Alistair and made it look like he died from Covid." Genevieve said Lorenzo was proud of his daughter at this moment. "Who helped you?" "Don't worry. No one will find out, but it was Dr. Hayward." "Good. I wouldn't let you go to jail. I'll protect you like my own daughter," Mateo said. Genevieve felt something at that moment. "Well, let's talk about business." "Yes." At Carly's—the scene was set with Carly looking at pictures when there was a knock on the door. She opened it to find Ava and Avery, who was a teenager now. "We just wanted to say how sorry we are about Michael." "Thank you. Avery, Michael loved you very much." "Yes, I know." "Tomorrow is the funeral. You're welcome to come." "Thanks."
