Sleep. A prolonged period of total rest, usually throughout the night, that affects both your body and mind. Unfortunately for Kian, reaching that state was quite difficult for her. Her mind raced, trying to think of a way to break the news to the brunette She'd been trained to look at situations from a tactical standpoint, pinpoint and execute the perfect plan. Have backup plans for said plan. But this, this was something that she couldn't figure out. Not without causing the singer pain, Kian came to the conclusion that it was inevitable. There was no way of shielding the woman from this one.

The Lieutenant screwed her eyes shut as she lay there, today was Lucas's big day. She needed the sleep so badly, signs of her tiredness would bring unwanted attention from the exact singer that had been keeping her up. Today marked the sixth week of her avoiding the brunette, the calls and texts finally stopped. It was easier to do so now that the singer was also ignoring her. The days were disappearing quickly, each day become increasingly more difficult. But today would be different, she needed it to be if she was going to get through it.

The six hours of sleep she managed to get was enough for the time being. So she got up, showered, and made sure her uniform was sitting perfectly so she could put it on later. Afterward, she left her bedroom to find Lucas already up and making breakfast.

Walking up to the island smirking, "Well isn't this nice?" She said referring to the breakfast place on the counter

"Oh, good to see you finally awake. How did the princess sleep?"

The two looked at each other for a beat and cringed, "Please, never call me that again."

The man only nodded erratically as he placed the now-cooked eggs onto a plate. He slid a cup down the island right into Kian's hand and poured the dark liquor.

"Seriously though, what's up with all of this?"

"I thought that by preparing breakfast, I might express my gratitude." He stated taking a seat on the bar stool next to hers

"Well, your gratitude is much appreciated. How was the bed? Comfy enough for you?"

"Please, the bed is like a cloud compared to those horrible cots they had us sleeping on a few weeks ago."

She hummed in agreement, digging into the breakfast her friend prepared, "Wow, this is actually good."

"One of the many reasons why Olivia agreed to marry me."

"I bet this is the only one." She smiled, causing him to shove her lightly with his shoulder

The two had made amends following the brief altercation at the gym the previous day. She apologized for her behavior over the phone and said she would inform the singer tonight after the reception. Since this would be Madison and Kian's first interaction in two months, she was quite anxious about what might happen during the wedding. The Marine had no idea what the artist would say or do.

Her eyes caught the clock, they'd have to be at the venue in two hours.

"How does it feel to know in three hours you'll be a married man?"

Lucas smiled, sipping his coffee, "Fucking amazing Kian." he answered confidently

"You're uniform is good to go right? No need for an iron or anything?"

"Everything is squared away, I made sure everything was polished."

"Alright, well we should start getting ready soon so we can meet everyone else at the church."
