Madison's POV

"How was that?" She asked Olivia stepping away from the mic as the final note rang out

Pulling herself away from her phone the manager looked up, "Sounded amazing Mads, why don't you take five." She suggested pushing off of her chair.

The singer nodded toward her band as they dispersed. She walked over to the sidelines along her best friend who was back at who had returned to typing on her phone. The two of them had been here since eight this morning, something they've been doing for the past two weeks. Since this was the musician's debut tour, preparing for it was crucial. She wants everything to be perfect, it's what her fans deserve for supporting her throughout her growth as both a musician and person.

She watched as the blonde smiled at her phone, "Is that the new fiance?"

The blonde looked up with a smile stretched out on her face at the new title, "Yes, as a matter of fact, it is."

"It seems like only yesterday that we were at your house getting ready for your first date; I can't believe you two are engaged now."

"Believe me, I understand how you feel."

"Speaking of which, what time is it?"

"Eleven forty five, why?"

Madison sprang up from her seat and started frantically searching for her purse. Shit, I have to leave. I'm having lunch with Kian."

"Okay, I'll inform the crew. Are we still on for tonight?" Olivia asked watching the musician run around like a headless chicken.

"Yup, your house right?"

Olivia nodded, shooing the singer off, "Yes, now go before you're late. Good rehearsal by the way."

She barreled out of the door towards the parking lot. The restaurant is luckily only twenty minutes out from her current location. With a little bit of speeding, she can get there within fifteen.

...

Just like that she arrived with just five minutes to spare, her eyes quickly swept the parking lot in search of the recognizable black Mercedes. As per usual it was parked in its typical spot. Fishing out her purse and sunglasses the popstar made her way into the small cafe. When the pair had first started to hang out the best way Madison could think of getting to know the Marine was through lunch. Plus it was a good way to gauge someone's personality.

After exploring LA's streets, they came to a little café that also functioned as a bookstore. Along with a limitless supply of books in every imaginable genre, it also served sandwiches and coffee. A charming location with an industrial vibe from the high ceiling beams and big windows. The books were upstairs; also served as a balcony from which to see the kitchen and tables. The smell of coffee filled the air constantly, along with a hint of freshly baked bread. The store was completely covered in plants, which gave it an earthy air. The dim lighting also gave it a cozy atmosphere. The people were friendly and inviting.

If there was one place that could explain their two personalities this was it. That was the reason why they fell in love with it. The bell jangled, alerting the employees inside as she pushed open the glass door. They all greeted her with smiles as she found her way to her usual table. There Kian was, dressed in her uniform reading a random book she found. Her back was turned to the window at the two-person table, so engrossed in the novel.

Madison stood over her shoulder trying her best to pick up what she was reading.

"What do you got there Lieutenant?" The artist mused a smile stretched across her sunglass-covered face.
