Third Person POV
Xiao and Aether's House, West Liyue Harbor, Liyue
The two lovers slowly woke up, their travels began to settle as the holiday season officially begun. Lights, many of them, seemed to make Aether happy, and Xiao indifferent. Liyue, now being a nation lead by both Zhongli and Ningguang, becoming a democracy, and quickly progressing towards a Christian-oriented nation, celebrated Christmas officially starting in 2019. Mondstadt however, being a religion that was heavily faith based, has been celebrating Christmas for a while now.
Despite it being a Christian holiday, the area celebrated Christmas regardless of religion, and the festivities always began right after thanksgiving. Everyone was in high spirits, and December became the favorite month of the people of Liyue and Mondstadt.
As Aether's and Xiao began getting ready for school, clouds came over the horizon, and as soon as they walked out of the door to begin walking up the mountain, snow began to fall.
"The first snow of the year...everyone loves when it happens" Xiao stated
"I hate the cold and the snow, but I don't mind it when it's festive season!"
They both began walking towards the coffee shop on Harbor St. and grabbed coffee before heading up to the university. The boys could see their breath, one of the first times they could since the cold wave of February. Aether didn't mind it at first, as he quickly bundled up in a puffer coat, as well as Xiao. The two were bundled up in the cold, that quickly became mild warmth as the morning progressed. The weather in Liyue usually never went under 30 degrees, so it was rare for snow to actually pile up and stay there throughout the day. However, this day was different. The weather didn't reach above 35 degrees today, and everyone at the university was bundled up in thick jackets and coats. Xiao, being the tougher person he was, thought it was weak, until he too felt the cold and couldnt resist a jacket.
They went o their classes as the day progressed. The snow never stopped, and the weather progressively got colder, as they walked back out at the end of the day and the snow piled up to six inches.
"Maybe we should teleport...I didn't bring boots this time because I didn't think the snow was going to be this bad, haha" Aether said.
They teleported back to the house quickly, then took all of their coats, gloves, and the like off and settled on the couch. The house was warm, as the heat that they put on before leaving kept the house at a cozy 70 degrees.
The cold season begun, and winter festivities have been in full swing for a week now.
