Birds chirped outside of the motel window, which was covered with blinds to prevent prying eyes from peeping in. The animals sounded happy and serene, making (Y/n) smile as she went to stretch, before pausing while feeling something wrapped around her. Opening her eyes quickly in alertness, she found herself being spooned by Jack. A huge blush invaded (Y/n)'s face as she realized the situation they were both in. She could hear Jack lightly snoring, making her curse the world for putting her in this predicament in the first place. What to do... wake him up and get out of this, or let him sleep and feel awkward, in the meantime? Opting to allow him to continue sleeping, (Y/n) huffed in frustration, putting her arms down helplessly as she lay there.

It does feel nice, I'm not going to lie... while he sleeps, I may as well think about my feelings. Feeling Jack shift behind her, she hoped that he would wake himself up, but only found herself being held tighter by the sleeping man. Face turning different shades of red, the woman attempted to ignore the cuddling before her eyes rested on his gloved hands resting on her stomach. Slowly pulling a glove off his right hand, (Y/n) set it aside before looking at his ungloved hand for the first time since he had rescued her from Jeff. Scars detailed his hand extensively, with long claws extending from his fingers. Reaching her own hand out to touch his, she was surprised when met with smooth, cold skin, having expected it to be rough. Fingers interlocking together, hers on top of his, she found herself feeling nervous at the foreign contact; electricity fueling her nervousness as she bit her lip and continued to ponder her feelings.

(Y/n) jumped as soon as she felt Jack's hand tighten around hers, signaling that he was now awake. "What are you doing, (Y/n)?" Though she was nervous, she chose not to tear her hand away from his, liking the feeling of her warm hand mixing with his cool skin.

"I've been thinking about my feelings, that's all." Biting her lip, she expected him to move away and stop holding her, but he only held her even closer to him. She could feel his heart beating against her back. Not being able to see him was making her even more nervous, so the woman decided to turn around and face him while his arms continued to hold her. Looking up at him as he looked down at her, they both stared at each other with tender expressions.

"And?" (Y/n) continued to make eye contact with Jack, faces a few inches apart.

"And what?" Rather than respond, Jack found himself leaning down, desiring more of her. (Y/n) found herself leaning into the kiss that they soon shared, putting her arms up to his neck and entangling her fingers into his hair. His hands tightened around her waist as they passionately began to make out, before (Y/n) licked his bottom lip for permission. Jack allowed her to do so, tongues dancing in a synchronized routine, before (Y/n) pulled away while panting. "To be quite honest Jack, I think I need more time. I know I like you, I just... I don't know how to navigate love." Jack smiled sadly, accepting her answer or lack thereof, before pulling her into his embrace.

"I understand. Like I said before, I'll continue to love you, even if you never love me." She closed her eyes and inhaled his scent, smelling his body wash ever so slightly. How would a relationship work between us? Could we ever be truly happy on the run? Tears pricked the corner of her eyes as she wished things could just be easier. She thought back to her parents' deaths. A murderer had stabbed them while (Y/n) had been at her college dorm. All their belongings had been taken, including both valuables and photos of the family. (Y/n) virtually had nothing left of them after they had passed. They had been taken far too early from her, but they had been her rolemodels and superheroes. Therapy didn't help as much as it probably should have. (Y/n) felt immense guilt ever since the incident and still did. Why had she been so selfish and gone to college? Of course, it was immensely illogical, but her already low self-esteem had absolutely plummeted after that. (Y/n) had been changed forever, and had never really been the same since.

The irony of it all was that she now found herself falling for a former killer who had kidnapped her. Would they be proud of me right now? Of course not. But... would they want me to follow my heart, or what's truly morally right? This was probably the main question holding (Y/n) back from truly committing to Jack. As she lay in his embrace, still holding him tightly, all she could think about was how grateful she was for him being in her life. Whether that was selfish or senseless, she didn't know. Perhaps it was both, but the outcome remained the same, regardless; she had ironically never been happier than right now.

Author's Note: Hello! For the next chapter being released on Saturday, it will be lemon! I will have a part here on Wattpad that will be non-lemon, followed by a link in the comments to Quotev where I will post the continued mature part separately. You will NOT be missing any important parts of the story if you don't read the extended version, as it is only filled with sexual content. Everything you need to know will still be included in the chapter released here on Wattpad. I have never written lemon before and I am incredibly embarrassed and nervous lol, so try not to be too critical if you do choose to read the extended version. This is to separate my readers who may be underage and/or not mature enough to handle such content, with others who are able to handle it and who want to readily read the material. You also don't have to make a Quotev account in order to click the link and read the chapter I post there.
