In the morning, the pale blue sky was floating with white clouds. The breeze came with that sense of balance, the wisdom to move yet at a steady calm pace that blew the leaves beside the road, the birds leaping back and forth on the trees as if telling people that a new day had begun. The sun was hovering over the emerging city. The park was filled with new vitality. The green grass woke up under the gentle morning light, and it looked greener than ever with glistening beads from the humidity of the night. Children populated the park on that sunny morning and their giggles garnished the air. After the storm always the bonanza and it was like that for Eiry and Eddie too. With a quiet and unbusy morning, they sat on the balcony feeding from the sun after breakfast. Eddie was sitting with his back against the wall and Eiry in the middle of his legs, leaning with her back against his torso, his arms wrapped around her, her head resting on his shoulder and a cover over them. Now and then his lips kissed the top of her head or her delicate cheek. His fingers laced with hers sometimes or his hand would slide inside her sweater, it was actually him, palming her soft skin. After the storm that ravaged them, the quietness, the love, the trust, the feeling that everything was in the right place.

"Eddie..." His name slipped off her tongue almost silently as she gazed onto the horizon to absorb the water view afar with all the little boats floating on it.

"Yes..." He kissed the top of her head and then pulled her hair away from her neck with the tip of his fingers, kissing her there, making her shiver and giggle as he tickled her. "This is nice..." He said after, resting his chin on her shoulder and watching the huge lake too.

"The view?" Eiry smiled feeling incredibly relaxed and it was not from the love they made in the morning, but because they found their way back to one another.

"No, silly..." His hands sliding inside her shirt until he caught her naked breasts with both hands. "This... us... here so quiet..."

"Were you going to leave yesterday?" Eiry decided to ask to erase the doubts from her head. They haven't talked about it. They made love but they didn't talk about what happened and sometimes she needed to clear things out.

"No." Eddie responded firmly. "I was not..."

"Really?" His fingers playing with her nipples made her smile. "Those hands..." Eiry pretended she complained after.

"These hands were made to touch you." He smiled and she smiled too. "But answering your question, I was not, love."

"It crossed your mind, I know you..." Eddie stayed silent. "It's ok... we are just talking."

"I feel responsible for you." Eddie pulled her closer. "You know... I don't want to be a burden in your life and sometimes I feel like I am..."

"How many times do I have to tell you that you're not?" Eiry strayed, sat straight, and turned around to look at him. "I am stronger than you think. I might bend but I don't break."

"Look..." He held her face with his hands. "... it totally brought me down to know you didn't get that internship. I know it was really important to you and it unbalanced me. I... for a moment, yes..." He nodded. "...it crossed my mind. I'd leave and you'd be free to pull your life back together."

"My life is where it is supposed to be." Eiry protested.

"Let me finish." Eddie pecked her lips. "It crossed my mind but wouldn't it be insane to let go? You are not someone I just met. You are my wife. We have a life together. We have plans..." Eiry smiled. "I love you so..."

"Right, babe." It was her turn to kiss him. "That's right and I'll manage to find something."

"On your field." Eddie looked deeply in her eyes. "Not at a café or a supermarket. On your field, love."
