The rain arrived with a buoyant wind that sent the naked trees in a whirlpool of dance. With the rain the traffic became intense, lining up obediently in a slow steady pace. The city got darker and the street lights were turned on sooner. It wasn't even four o'clock and it seemed like it was already nightfall. People ran up and down the street trying to escape the thick droplets that fell from the sky. The umbrellas though, they colored the city in many different joyful tones. The percussion of the rain varied according to the surface it touched. There was a drum sound like when it hit the windows of Stone's car, and cymbals when it hit the roof. There were puddles by the sidewalk that people jumped not to step on it. The tires of the car on the drenched tarmac sounded waterish as they rolled, and one of the windshield whippers shrieked every time it went back. Eiry rubbed her face, tired from being in the car and looked at Stone who looked serene if it wasn't for the prominent movement of his chest.
"Are you ok?" Eiry curled an eyebrow.
"Yeah!" Stone turned his face to look at her, but his semblance didn't match his reply. His eyes were about to jump off his face and he kept wetting his lips with the tip of his tongue.
"Are you sure?"
"It's the traffic..." Stone shrugged and looked outside. "I hate driving and this traffic is just contributing to my hate..."
"It has nothing to do with you seeing Rae in a few minutes?" Eiry pressed her lips together and again he turned his head to look at her, but this time with a much faster move.
"What did she say about last night?" Eiry frowned at his question.
"Excuse me!" She raised a hand to make him stop. "I'm not gonna tell you what I talk with Rae!"
"I don't know..." Stone grabbed his hair with both hands and pulled it up, tying it in a ponytail with a pink scrunchie he had on his wrist. "She might not even want to see me and I'm gonna show up with you..." Eiry giggled and he narrowed his eyes which made her stop.
"Sorry..." She pressed her lips together to fight her will to laugh. "I'm not making fun of you..." Eiry raised both hands. "...but it's rather funny to see you shitting your pants."
"I am not!" A huge crease appeared between his eyebrows.
"You are." Eiry smiled and nodded at the same time. "You are, Gossard."
"Oh!" He groaned. "I don't know how Eddie puts up with you!"
"It's more like how do I put up with him." She winked with a visible mocking smile on her lips.
"Right... 'cause he is such a piece of work." Stone rolled his eyes.
"You have no idea how he is behind closed doors, Stone..." Eiry smiled once more and he made disgusting face.
"Spare me! I don't need to know about one of my bandmates sex life. Oh... to erase this image now..." Eiry laughed loud.
"But tell me..." She pointed at his scrunchie. "Is that scrunchie a thing of yours or is it to match Rae's hair?" Stone narrowed his eyes again and she laughed loud this time.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Stone tried to remain with a serious semblance but there was a soft smile on his lips. "I am so truly sorry for Eddie now!"
"Oh, don't be!" Eiry looked into his eyes. "He's well fed, has sex at least twice a day and all his clothes are cleaned." Stone began to laugh loud and shook his head.
"Twice a day... fucking hell..." He whispered after as he tried to subside his laughter.
"You're smitten." Eiry pointed out. "You're on your fours for her..."
