"That was... a close one.." Maniko gasped, his hands on his knees as he caught his breath.
Suddenly, he heard an unknown presence from behind him, clearing their throat. With his guard still up, Maniko swiftly turned his body 180 degrees, his kunai now in his hand.
"Oh, thank God.. It's just you." The boy sighed in relief, upon realising it was just Sasuke buried in the ground.
....
Wait a sec..
It was Sasuke..
Buried in the ground?!
He turned his head just a little bit more, only to see Sakura passed out on the floor next to him.
"Oh my gosh! Sakura, are you okay?!" Maniko ran over to accompany the pink haired girl, completely forgetting about his other teammate. An irk mark appeared on Sasuke's head as he watched the scene.
"You know, maybe you should help out the teammate that's actually conscious, and useful at this moment of time?" Sasuke scowled sarcastically, trying his hardest to get Maniko away from her.
"Ah, sorry! You're right!" The Tasuya frowned, before forming hand signs. "Release!"
The dark haired boy was now freed from whatever Jutsu Kakashi had put him in.
"Wait a second.." Maniko mumbled to himself, as he thought back to Kakashi's words.
- "What kind of mission are we going to have?!" Naruto asked, saluting to his new Sensei.
"It's a task the four of you will do together."
Together.
Together. -
Just as Sasuke was about to run back to hunting Kakashi, Maniko grasped onto his arm. "Sasuke, wait! ..I think I figured something out, but you have to listen to me." The Uchiha nodded in response.
"I think this whole survival exercise is about us working together. Just think about it for a second.." He started.
"There's three bells instead of four, which seems deceiving enough as it is.. But, Kakashi told us that one person at minimum will fail to capture the bells.." Maniko explained.
"That only applies for if we all work individually! Realistically, if we capture the bells together.. He can't send any of us back to the academy!" The tealette finished, holding out his hand to his teammate.
"Let's work together, Sasuke. It'll be much easier." He suggested, with a smile on his face.
Sasuke only shook his head. "If I nearly got those bells alone, on my first try, I can do it by myself easily." Followed by the boy sprinting away.
