"Orochi...maru?" Maniko slowly repeated.
"From what I remember, yeah.. Does it ring any bells?" Sakura asked.
"Sakura, I've never met an 'Orochimaru' in my life, let alone know why he's after me of all people.." The tealette explained, stroking his chin.
"What did he look like?" Maniko asked.
"Well, he was very pale.. He had golden eyes, a lot paler than yours, though. And slitted pupils. Uh.. Purple marks around his eyes..? Long black hair, and thangs on his teeth.. He was also riding a.. H-Huge snake." Sakura listed as much as she could recall from the sudden encounter.
"That..." Maniko started.
"...Sounds badass!"
"Maniko!" The girl scolded, before sighing.
"So, do you remember interacting with anyone of that description..?"
"Hm.." Maniko hummed, deep in thought.
"Oh!" He randomly yelled out, raising up a finger as if remembering something.
"Oh?!" Sakura perked up, urging the boy to continue.
"...Nah." Maniko admitted, causing the pinkette to slouched her shoulders in defeat.
"And, who knows when they're gonna wake up!" Sakura sighed, waving her hand towards the two knocked out teammates. "I'd say as of now, we're the most liable team in the entire forest.." She claimed, pouting.
"Two of us aren't even conscious, one of us has a powerful ninja on their back.. And.. Well, me..?" The pinkette trailed off.
"Hey, c'mon Sakura. Don't think like that!" Maniko scolded. "As long as someone on the team is standing, there's still hope. Right?" He encouraged, gaining a subtle nod from the female.
"..You're right, Maniko."
"Besides, don't think I didn't come without a plan B." He winked, whispering the last part. Sakura visibly perked up, her hope definitely more apparent now.
'Or I guess you can call it.. A plan... Lee!' Maniko thought, giggling to himself proudly.
"Well, I managed to set up a couple traps for further protection. Though, i'm not sure if they'll be very effective.." Sakura admitted, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Good work, Sakura!" Maniko assured the girl with a gentle smile on his face, earning one back.
"In that case, I think we should lie low for now.. It'll give us time to let Naruto and Sasuke heal up." The boy suggested, deep in thought.
"I also think that you should rest up, a bit. You seem really tired. I'll keep a look out for the time being." He added.
